  • Patent number: 4368917
Abstract: A seat member providing a support structure of a seat in a vehicle is integrally formed of a synthetic resin material and includes a seat base portion and wing or flap portions. The seat base portion is formed with a plurality of openings and is partly thinner than the remainder to provide desired resiliency. The flap portions are formed with a plurality of openings or corrugations and are also partly thinner than the remainder to provide additional resiliency. Portions functioning as suspension springs may be integrally formed with the seat base portion together with a frame including upper rails of a slide rail unit. Reinforcing wires may be embedded in both the seat base portion and the flap portions.

  • Patent number: 4352709
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for producing a seat cushion member by laminating a sheet of decorative surface material, a sheet of usual polyurethane foam material and a reinforcing web of fabric material in the above order, and subjecting the laminate to heating by a conventional heating unit and, at the same time, to high-frequency dielectric heating by a high-frequency welder to locally fuse required portions of the sheet of usual polyurethane foam material thereby welding the three layers into an integral structure.

  • Patent number: 4323410
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a permeable seat cushion, a seat surface covering of premeable fabric material of bag-like structure is formed by joining a seating portion to side portions, and the seating portion of the seat surface covering is pressed in a turned-over relation between a pair of dies after application of heat thereto. A skinless molded block or profile-cut slab of foamed polyurethane is then bonded to the seating portion, and the side portions are turned over to complete the seat cushion.

  • Patent number: 4268994
Abstract: A three-dimensional decorative planter having a frame for securing a vertically disposed cultivation body and having a liquid reservoir and conduit for liquid from the reservoir to the cultivation body. The frame also has a trough for collecting excess liquid. The cultivation body includes culture material and filler in arrangements necessary to secure the culture material and provide watering, drainage and ventilation.

  • Patent number: 4107829
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a permeable seat cushion, a permeable fabric material is pressed between a pair of dies while being heated and wetted with steam to render the fabric temporarily unpermeable to provide a seat covering of bag-like structure. A first precut filler pad is bonded to the seat covering, and a second precut filler pad is then bonded to the first filler pad. A frame is mounted together with springs and other necessary elements on the thus obtained assembly, and the seat covering is anchored at its pheripheral edges to the frame to complete the seat cushion.
