Abstract: A client device uses a hostname-based feature mapping table. A randomized MAC address and a hostname of the client device is obtained from the memory of the client device. A user interface receives a selection. to indicate the hostname is to be changed to a new hostname. The client device is associated with a network access device when the new hostname is determined to be unique. A list of features and associated rules are displayed in the user interface for associating with the new hostname. Features and associated rules are selected from the list to link to the new hostname. A feature mapping table is presented in the user interface to show the features and associated rules linked to the new hostname.

Abstract: As network resources of a network continue to be stretched due to a variety of users and numerous network devices connected to the network, there is a need to provide management of the network resources to optimize access to the network and to provide enhanced QoE for each user of the network without diminishing a particular user's experience. A throttling management application can provide for throttling one or more requests for an asset associated with one or more network devices. A request can be throttled so as to bump higher priority requests in a queue ahead of other network requests based on a throttling factor. The throttling factor can be associated with a throttling management profile that provides a priority to certain requests of certain network devices without delaying requests from other network devices.

Abstract: A client device for use with an access point device, a gateway device, and an external server having stored therein firmware version information indicating a most recent firmware version number, n, associated with the access point device. The access point device having a loaded firmware version number, m, loaded thereon. The client device includes a memory and a processor, which may cause the client device to: connect to the access point device; obtain, from the access point device, the loaded firmware version number, m; obtain, from the external server, the most recent firmware version number, n; disconnect from the access point device; and wait a predetermined period of time and then connect to the gateway device, wherein the predetermined period of time is a first period of time when m=n, and wherein the predetermined period of time is a second period of time when m<n.

Abstract: To prevent unauthorized access to a network feature, multiple levels of authentication are required by utilizing a biometric authentication application that can verify access based on an authentication configuration that, for example, includes biometric data associated with a user. Requiring additional authentication to one or more network features or settings while allowing one or more other network features or settings to have less authentication provides a quality of experience for every user with access to the application while maintaining enhanced security to those network features that may be key/sensitive or require additional security. Additionally, using biometric data to perform the additional level of authentication ensures that a particular user seeking access to key or sensitive network features or settings of a network is the authorized user and not another user that has gained access to a network device associated with the authorized user.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are drawn to client device for use with a network controller and an external server, the network controller being configured to manage a wireless network, to change a critical parameter of the wireless network, to transmit a request for a one time password (OTP). The external server being configured to generate the OTP in response to the request for the OTP, to provide a notification of the OTP and to transmit the OTP to the network controller. This causes the client device to onboard onto the first network device using a first password, generate a key, and store first association information in the external server. The first association information including client device identifying data to uniquely identify the client device.

Receiving credential information (CI) and generating the SSO password through at least one client device (CD). Encrypting the SSO password. Storing the SSO password in the CD and an electronic device (ED). Transmit the SSO password and encrypted SSO password to a cloud services platform (CSP), where the CSP stores both. Storing the SSO password in a cloud server (CS). Accessing the user account, if SSO password is unavailable, through the CSP transmitting a one time passcode to a user email, the CD setting a temporary password transferred to the CSP. The CSP confirming a match and transmitting the encrypted SSO password to the CD, the CD decrypting the encrypted SSO password and resetting the temporary password to the SSO password.

Abstract: A Wi-Fi access point device (APD) includes a controller, a radio, and a memory. The memory contains instructions for establishing a programmed secure Wi-Fi onboarding SSID with the client device with connection to the external network. The controller is configured to instruct the radio to broadcast the open Wi-Fi onboarding SSID for a predetermined period of time. The controller is also configured to: instruct the radio to broadcast an established programmed secure Wi-Fi onboarding SSID; onboard the Wi-Fi APD to the external network, based on information communicated between the Wi-Fi client device and the Wi-Fi APD over the established programmed secure Wi-Fi onboarding SSID; and instruct the radio to stop the broadcast of the open Wi-Fi onboarding SSID at the earlier of a termination of the predetermined time period and the onboarding of the Wi-Fi APD to the external network.
