  • Patent number: 11746520
Abstract: A tray-like modular building component adapted for filling with concrete after assembly with like components into a building frame, said tray-like modular building component comprising: a substantially rectangular frame with a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends defining an interior therebetween; a sheet mounted to said building frame and extending over said interior; a pair of beams, each mounted to said building frame along each said pair of sides respectively; and a pair of end plates, each mounted to said building frame along each said pair of ends respectively, wherein said sheet, said pair of beams and said pair of end plates together form an open-topped tray for receiving the concrete therein.

  • Patent number: 11339561
Abstract: A method of constructing a modular building, the method can include the following sequential steps: constructing a multi-floor building frame by connecting a plurality of like open topped-trays and column assemblies, with the trays forming floors and the column assemblies separating the floors; assembling walls or walls formwork to the frame; and pouring wet concrete into the trays to form the building.

  • Patent number: 8607528
Abstract: A method of building a structure, the method including the steps of: 1. fabricating a generally longitudinal, non-steel sub-structure of the structure with a cable retainer attached to, or forming part of, the sub-structure and that extends substantially longitudinally therealong; 2. assembling the sub-structure into a structure; 3. inserting a cable into the cable retainer; 4. after step 2, applying a tensile force to the cable relative to the cable retainer; and 5. after step 4, bonding the cable to the cable retainer.

  • Patent number: 8528266
Abstract: A domed roof structure may include a plurality of generally rectangular roof members each including an upper surface; a lower surface; a pair of first opposed side surfaces and a pair of second opposed side surfaces, each diverging from the upper surface to the lower surface; a first passage from one to the other of the pair of the first side surfaces; and a second passage from one to the other of the pair of the second side surfaces. A first cable may pass through the first passages in adjacent said roof members; and a second cable may pass through the second passages in adjacent said roof members. Applying tension to the cables may drive the end faces of adjacent said roof members towards each other thereby increasing the angle between adjacent said roof members so as to form a domed roof structure.
