  • Publication number: 20240137810
Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, virtualized network function resources may be managed in a network. Performance measurements may be received for at least one mobility management entity (MME) in an MME pool, or for other network elements. If at least one of the performance measurements exceeds at least one predetermined threshold, instantiation of a new mobility management entity virtual network function (MME VNF) may be requested, and the MME VNF may be instantiated in response to the request. One or more user equipment (UE) devices managed by the MME pool may be connected to the added MME VNF.

  • Publication number: 20240028409
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are generally directed to decentralized compute infrastructure (DCI). According to one embodiment, a determination is made by a recommendation engine running on a client computer system to offload a particular non-containerized workload associated with a host application from a SaaS cloud to the client computing system on which the host application is also running. After the determination, a unit of execution in which the particular workload is packaged may be fetched and the non-containerized workload may be caused to be run locally on the client computing system. In some examples, a metric indicative of cost savings accrued by a vendor of the host application due to offloading may be tracked and at least a portion of the cost savings may be distributed to one or both of a subscriber of the host application and one or more third party stakeholders.

  • Publication number: 20240020665
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are generally directed to decentralized proof of creation. According to one embodiment, a blockchain and smart contracts, including a social decentralized identifier (DID) contract and multiple creator contracts owned and controlled by respective creators, are maintained by a proof of creation facilitator service. A first social DID for a creator of a digital artifact is created on the blockchain via the social DID contract. Based at least in part on the first social DID, decentralized proof of creation (e.g., a non-fungible token (NFT)) for the digital artifact is created on the blockchain via a creator contract of the multiple creator contracts deployed by or on behalf of the creator.

  • Publication number: 20230353455
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to Multi-Access Management Services (MAMS), which is a programmable framework that provides mechanisms for the flexible selection of network paths in a multi-access (MX) communication environment, based on an application's needs. Generic Multi-Access (GMA) data plane functions are integrated into the MAMS framework to provide a virtual network connection that acts as the MAMS anchor connection. The virtual (anchor) connection is used for sending time-sensitive MAMS control/management messages. Virtual network configuration parameters are discussed in the present disclosure, which are used for establishing and setting up the virtual (anchor) connection. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Patent number: 11792838
Abstract: An architecture, for a cellular communications system, is described herein in which a “bearer-less” model is used for both the radio interface and the network core. Instead of using an individual Layer 2 bearer for each Quality of Service (QoS) class, in the architecture described herein, a common Layer 2 connection (e.g., a Layer 2 “fat pipe”) may be used to handle traffic flows between a User Equipment (UE) device and an external Packet Data Network (PDN). Additionally, a bearer-less architecture may be used in the radio interface (i.e., between User Equipment (UE) and the eNB).

  • Publication number: 20220053332
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing secondary authentication credentials for an external network are described. The credentials are provided from the UE to the GGSN via the SGSN during establishment of a PDN connection for the UE in a NAS message. The SGSN receives an Activate PDP Context Request from the UE and sends to the GGSN a Create PDP Context Request. The Requests include a PCO IE with the credentials. The GGSN determines a RADIUS and/or DHCP server to be used for IP address allocation, a protocol to be used with the server, and security features to use to dialogue with the server. The GGSN obtains the IP address from the server and provides the IP address to the UE via the SGSN via Create PDP Context Response.

  • Publication number: 20220022105
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing 5G access for a UE are generally described. The UE is simultaneously connected via dual radio operation to a legacy and 5G access system. The UE mobility management states for the access systems are independent of each other. The EPC and 5G CN share an HSS and may share a IP anchor. When handover occurs between access systems, the IP address is retained and the IP anchor used when the UE transmits an Attach Request having a Handover Attach Request Type and otherwise a new IP address is provided and the HSS but not the IP anchor is common between the access systems. The 5G eNB to which the UE is connected is standalone and connected to the 5G CN or dual mode and connected with an EPC via an LTE anchor in addition to the 5G CN.

  • Patent number: 11108754
Abstract: Device to device (D2D) communication can be performed with packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) based encapsulation without internet protocol (IP) addressing. The non-IP D2D PDCP-encapsulated communication can further include two forms of secure data transfer. A first non-IP D2D PDCP-encapsulated communication can be a negotiated non-IP D2D PDCP-encapsulated communication. A second non-IP D2D PDCP-encapsulated communication can be a non-negotiated non-IP D2D communication. The non-negotiated non-IP D2D PDCP-encapsulated communication can include a common key management server (KMS) version and a distributed KMS version. The encapsulated communication can be used with various protocols, including a PC5 protocol (such as the PC5 Signaling Protocol) and wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) protocols.
