The housing also has an attachment extension to couple to the internal display such that the device side attachment surface has a permanently fixed orientation relative to the attachment extension. The housing contains a wireless charger and a first arrangement of magnetic material. The magnetic material exposes a pattern of magnetic fields at the device side attachment surface. The attachment extension has a display screen coupling surface with an arcuate contour that substantially mates with a contour of the internal display screen.

Each segment is formed from a synthetic material and has an arcuate distal edge of a first radius, the distal edge forming a lip to engage a distal edge of the wheel. Each segment has at least two spoke adjacent edges and an arcuate proximal edge with a second radius less than the first radius. In some embodiments, the proximal edge defines a hook to engage an inner recess of the wheel. Each spoke adjacent edge is configured to reside near a spoke of the wheel during use. In some embodiments, a protrusion extended from the lip serves as a pinch point when a tire deforms during an impact event.

Collectively, the first and second arrangements, in use, magnetically couple the accessory to a mobile device and cause the accessory to adopt a specific orientation on the mobile device.
