Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method of performing distributed simulation. In the method of performing distributed simulation, a simulation time provision apparatus sets global simulation times synchronized with real times based on the real times. The simulation time provision apparatus distributes the set global simulation times over distributed simulators. Each of the distributed simulators adjusts the interval between local simulation times, during which the continuous or discrete elements of an allocated one of subsystem models that model subsystems forming a hybrid system will be analyzed, based on the global simulation times. The distributed simulator performs simulation to analyze the continuous or discrete elements of the subsystem model during a period corresponding to the adjusted interval between the local simulation times.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a node search apparatus and method. The apparatus includes a communication unit, a node search execution unit, and publish-subscribe communication middleware. The communication unit receives information about a child node of a root node in a node tree and a target node from a task distribution unit. The node search execution unit performs a search for the target node on the child node and the lower nodes of the child node. The publish-subscribe communication middleware publishes information about a visited node, which belongs to the child node and the lower nodes of the child node and which is determined not to correspond to the target node by the node search execution unit, to a global database.

Abstract: Provided is an application program launching method and system for improving security of an embedded Linux kernel by distributing superuser privileges. The method includes: searching security set information on an application program selected by a user; changing a user account for a processor of the application program to a user ID associated with the application program in the security set information; setting a capability for the processor according to setting information for the capability in the security set information; changing a basic directory for the processor according to a basic directory in the security set information; and launching the application program.

Abstract: There are provided a phased spreading scheme-based transmission apparatus and a method of operating the same. The phased spreading scheme-based transmission apparatus includes a spreading unit performing a first spreading operation of defining a first spreading code and spreading an input signal by using the defined first spreading code in response to a control signal defining a spreading coefficient, and a second spreading operation of selecting a second spreading code based on the control signal defining the spreading coefficient and spreading an input signal by using the selected second spreading code, the first and second spreading codes having different spreading coefficients.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for power control of a mobile BS of variable backbone capacity. The method includes determining a link state and capacity of a backbone of the BS, and determining a link state and service capacity between the BS and a mobile communication terminal. The method also includes, if the capacity of the backbone is less than the service capacity, setting the backbone capacity similar to the service capacity by lowering a transmit power of the BS by a predefined value.

Abstract: A washing machine has a water spray device to efficiently wet the laundry by spraying washing water to the laundry with uniform pressure. The washing machine includes an outer tub, and a water spray device installed at an upper portion of the outer tub to spray washing water. The water spray device includes a diffusion duct for diffusing the washing water around the outer tub and a spray member provided in the diffusion duct to spray the washing water into the outer tub.

Abstract: Provided are a mobile device and a method of changing a screen orientation of the mobile device. A method for changing a screen orientation of a mobile device includes: recognizing a motion of the mobile device; determining whether to change the screen orientation of the mobile device based on a first motion sensor of the mobile device; determining whether a viewing direction of a user of the mobile device is matched to the screen orientation of the mobile device based on at least one of the first motion sensor and a second motion sensor; and maintaining the screen orientation of the mobile device in response to a determination that the viewing direction of the user of the mobile device is matched to the screen orientation of the mobile device.

Thereafter, the imaging area setting method includes setting the X-ray irradiation area based on the selected-area, and adjusting the X-ray irradiator so as to irradiate the X-ray irradiation area with X-rays.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a maritime broadband mobile communication apparatus and a communication method using the apparatus. The communication method is configured such that a broadband mobile communication apparatus located in a vessel and provided with an intra-vessel communication processing unit, a satellite communication processing unit, and a broadband wireless communication processing unit communicates with another vessel or a ground base station. A communication target is identified based on AIS information collected via an AIS located on land. A communication direction corresponding to the communication target is determined. The intra-vessel communication processing unit, the satellite communication processing unit, and the broadband wireless communication processing unit are switched depending on the communication direction, and a direction of a broadband mobile communication antenna is controlled in response to results of the switching.

Abstract: This invention relates to spreading code producing apparatus, which comprises: two phase shifters for spreading code which receive bits for determining spreading codes and phase information and producing spreading codes; and multiplexers which receive two spreading codes produced said two phase shifters for spreading code, receive bits through separate way which defines outputting order of the received two spreading codes and produce spreading codes with same length as said received two spreading codes. Therefore, many information using few spreading codes can be transmitted so that data transmission rate can be raised. Furthermore, communication service with high speed can be performed among communication devices using human body communication etc.

Abstract: Provided are a system and method for allocating a specific job or application to a specific slave core by using an inter-core-communication (ICC) channel and executing the job or application in a multicore system environment including the master core and a plurality of slave cores. The method of a master core, includes: initializing message transmission times; generating an event for processing a instruction received from an application program and generating a channel event message from the event; checking a process for transmitting the generated channel event message, and if a channel event message queue corresponding to an event transmitting request is not “FULL” of a previously-stored channel event message, transmitting the channel event message to a specific slave core to request for storing the channel event message; and returning a response of processing status to the request for storing the channel event message to the application program.

Abstract: A method of task assignment in a distributed processing system including a plurality of processors is proposed. The method of task assignment includes calculating utilities of tasks to be processed in execution units included in each processor and arranging the calculated results in descending order; calculating utility difference values between the execution units included in each processor and outputting a highest difference value; comparing a utility of the task with the output highest difference value; designating the task to be assigned to the execution unit having the lowest utility in a processor in which the highest difference value is generated when the utility of the task is less than or equal to the output highest difference value; repeating the calculating, comparing, and designating in the order of the arranged tasks; and assigning the tasks to the designated targets.

Abstract: A terminal which is compatible with another terminal and is capable of performing data synchronization without a separate server, and a synchronization method using the same is disclosed. The terminal may directly connect to another terminal and receive data therefrom. The received data is synchronized with the terminal. If the received data does not suit the playback environment of the terminal, a playback tool or conversion tool may be received from a server.
