  • Patent number: 10977401
Abstract: Disclosed approaches for creating a circuit design involving a network-on-chip (NoC) include instantiating in a memory of a computer system logic blocks and logical NoC (LNoC) blocks. Each logic block specifies a function of the circuit design and is communicatively coupled to another logic block through an LNoC block. The LNoC blocks are aggregated into a traffic specification that specifies connections between ingress circuits and egress circuits of the NoC. The traffic specification is compiled into configuration parameters for circuits of the NoC, and the logic blocks are compiled into implementation data for the target IC by the computer processor. The target IC can then be configured with the configuration parameters and implementation data.

  • Patent number: 10846449
Abstract: A design tool executing on a computer system converts a block model of a circuit design to a high-level language (HLL) specification. The design tool then converts the HLL specification to a hardware description language (HDL) specification. Circuit implementation data is generated from the HDL specification by the design tool, and the circuit implementation data can be used to make an integrated circuit that performs functions specified by the circuit design.

  • Patent number: 10489541
Abstract: Disclosed approaches for translating a hardware description language (HDL) specification include inputting an HDL specification of a circuit design, generating a design graph of the circuit design from the HDL specification, and determining matches between modules of the HDL specification and blocks in a library. The design graph is translated into a data model that describes matching blocks, interfaces from the library, and connections between the blocks based on the matches determined between modules of the HDL specification and blocks of the library. The data model is compatible with a graphical design environment.

  • Patent number: 8868396
Abstract: A method and apparatus for verifying and debugging a circuit design module of a high level programming system is disclosed herein. A circuit design created in a high level programming environment must undergo a number of transformations as it is compiled into a form that can be realized in hardware. At each transformative step, the behavior of the circuit must be verified with a simulation model and debugged if the transformation has changed the behavior of the circuit. The claimed invention presents a novel approach for verifying and debugging between different simulation models and achieves an advance in the art by utilizing the modularized structure of a high-level circuit design to systematically identify simulation mismatches among different simulation models and determine which portions of the circuit design are responsible for the discrepancy.

  • Patent number: 8812289
Abstract: Approaches for simulating an electronic system. In one approach, a software co-simulation platform is configured to produce a first time sequence of values of a plurality of input ports of a design block of the electronic system, consume a second time sequence of values of a plurality of output ports of the design block, and generate access transactions for transferring the first and second sequences of values. The software co-simulation platform generates a plurality of reconfiguration transactions for transferring reconfiguration data for the design block. A PLD is configured to implement a communication block and a control block. The communication block receives the reconfiguration and access transactions from the software co-simulation platform, and the control block reconfigures programmable logic and interconnect resources of the PLD in response to the reconfiguration transactions. The control block also controls the emulation of the design block in response to the access transactions.

  • Patent number: 8769449
Abstract: Methods for generating a circuit design are disclosed. A plurality of cells is instantiated in the circuit design in response to user input. The set of interface parameters of each cell is arranged into a hierarchy of interface levels as indicated by an interface model corresponding to the cell. For each of the interface levels, values of the sets of interface parameters of cells included in the interface level are respectively propagated to other cells directly connected to the cell. In response to propagating a value of an interface parameter from another cell of the plurality of cells to the cell and the cell having a value of the corresponding interface parameter that is different from the propagated value, a value for the corresponding interface parameter of the cell is determined using a respective propagation function associated with the corresponding interface level.
