  • Publication number: 20110176492
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protocol data unit (PDU) reordering method in a wireless communication system. The terminal maintains the number of bytes of PDUs stored in the buffer for reordering PDUs received in a sequence that is changed due to HARQ error correction to thereby prevent overflow of the reordering buffer. When the HARQ function unit transmits a PDU received at the radio access control RAS (S101), the PDU reordering unit of the access terminal sets a current frame number as an arrival frame number of the received PDU (S102). When a current frame number is stored as an arrival frame number of a received frame, the PDU reordering unit compares a sequence number (SN) of a received PDU with a sequence number of a PDU that is about to be reordered (S 103). If the PDU has already been reordered, the received PDU is discarded (S 104).

  • Publication number: 20110149859
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for coupling communication terminals. In a communication method performed by a terminal coupler according to the present invention, sequence numbers are sequentially assigned to data packets received from a terminal end device. The data packets with the sequence numbers assigned thereto are individually transferred to a plurality of communication terminals belonging to a same group in conformity with preset scheduling policies. Data packets, received from the plurality of communication terminals belonging to the same group, are reordered by sequence numbers, and the reordered data packets are transferred to the terminal end device.

  • Patent number: 7729665
Abstract: A transmitting/receiving apparatus of down-link data using an automatic repeat request (ARQ) scheme and a method thereof in a wireless communication system is provided. In order to send an ARQ feedback message between a base station and a terminal without a radio resource allocation process in a wireless communication system, when the base station receives down-link data from the terminal of the base station, the base station stores the number list of the transmitted frames and periodically detects the list and automatically allocates radio resources for up-link without an additional process when the list is larger than a predetermined frame. The radio resource allocation request process can be omitted because a radio resource is automatically allocated during the up-link period after the base station transmits the down-link traffic. Thus, the response speed of an ARQ feedback acknowledgement message is enhanced, thereby enhancing a down-link transmission speed.

  • Publication number: 20080137601
Abstract: The present invention relates to an uplink framing method and apparatus in a mobile communication system. After a mobile terminal and a base station are connected to each other in a wireless manner, the base station allocates an uplink radio resource to a medium access control (MAC) layer of the mobile terminal, and then scheduling is performed for each connection in a buffer. Next, a packet data unit (PDU) is generated to satisfy the uplink time constraint and then transmitted to the base station. Therefore, hardware implementation complexity can be minimized in a mobile communication system that should support fast data transmission, and at the same time, a required uplink framing time can be minimized in a system that supports a short frame period.

  • Publication number: 20080137618
Abstract: A look-ahead bandwidth requesting method and a mobile terminal using the look-ahead bandwidth requesting method in a mobile communication system are provided. The mobile terminal receives a downlink packet from a base station and transmits the downlink packet to a terminal equipment system. If the downlink packet received from the base station is a TCP packet, the mobile terminal transmits the TCP packet to the terminal equipment system and, at the same time, performs a bandwidth requesting procedure for being allocated a wireless resource through which a TCP ACK packet is to be transmitted to the base station. The bandwidth request is performed by using a random access procedure. The mobile terminal transmits the TCP ACK packet received from the terminal equipment system through the wireless resource that is allocated in advance by using the random access procedure to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20070153801
Abstract: The present invention relates to a scheduling method and device for guaranteeing a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) quality of service (QoS) in a portable Internet system. In the portable Internet system, when a packet for connecting a session between a base station and a portable Internet terminal is input for a VoIP service between a VoIP terminal and a portable Internet terminal, the session is connected by transmitting/receiving the packet through a management connection of a media access control (MAC) layer. In addition, an unsolicited grant service (UGS) connection is established between the base station and the portable Internet terminal after connecting the session between the base station and the portable Internet terminal. Then, the packet including data for the VoIP service is transmitted/received through the UGS connection to perform a voice call. Accordingly, a high quality VoIP service may be provided in a bad propagation environment.

  • Patent number: 7209464
Abstract: A verification system and method for packet call processing of a mobile telephone. Each IP address is assigned to a terminal, a packet service simulator and the mobile telephone. The packet service simulator simulates a control signal of UTRAN necessary for the mobile telephone and connects data traffic to an internet after a packet call establishment. The packet service simulator transmits an IP packet generated from the terminal to its Ethernet address, receives a packet for the terminal and transmits it to the mobile telephone. For this, the packet service simulator responds to the terminal's ARP request. The terminal is linked to the mobile telephone via a PPP, and the mobile telephone and the packet service simulator to an external internet via an Ethernet.
