  • Patent number: 10643650
Abstract: In an information recording device, when receiving an erase command by a receiver, a controller erases data of an erased area by overwriting data in an information area, to corrupt the data in the information area, using an erasing pattern. The erased area is specified by an erase start position and a size of the data to be erased on the optical disc. The data in the information area is arranged as partial data in a series of data arranged in a direction of internal parity of error correction so that correction is disabled in both of a correction processing by the internal parity of the error correction and a correction processing by external parity of the error correction when the data in the information area is overwritten using the erasing pattern.

  • Patent number: 10002633
Abstract: There are provided an optical disk and an optical disk recording method which are capable of stable data reading in a case where a recording linear density is increased. According to an optical disk of the present disclosure, a run-in pattern recorded in a groove track and a run-in pattern recorded in a land track are made different patterns so that no great change is caused in the amplitude of an acquired signal due to interference between adjacent recording patterns, and thus, data may be stably read.

  • Publication number: 20130132672
Abstract: When RAID is constructed by using optical disks of the same lot, there is a problem in that the reproduction error probability of the RAID may have local increases over the reproduction error probability within the optical disks. According to the present invention, among a plurality of optical disks constituting an optical disk array, the smallest logical sector number is assigned to mutually different physical sector numbers. As a result, data in the same stripe is allowed to be recorded to sectors at mutually different physical sector numbers of the plurality of optical disks, so that the probability of occurrence of read errors due to interferences of adjacent guide grooves and/or insufficient formation of guide grooves can be leveled out, and the maximum probability of read errors can be kept small.

  • Patent number: 8397115
Abstract: A phase error detection device detects a phase error, based on an output from an A/D conversion section that performs A/D conversion on an analog input signal in accordance with a sampling clock to generate a digital reproduction signal. The phase error detection device includes a phase error generation section that generates the phase error from the output from the A/D conversion section, and a phase error correction section that corrects the phase error. Herein, the phase error correction section determines a phase error detection range from past phase errors and, when the phase error generated by the phase error generation section is out of the phase error detection range, corrects the phase error.

  • Patent number: 8243111
Abstract: A thermosensitive recording printer is provided with semiconductor lasers 1a to 1c, a polygon mirror 7 for condensing laser light emitted from the semiconductor laser 1a to 1c as condensed spots on a recording medium 10 to perform scanning in a main scanning direction, and a control unit 9 for controlling the output of the laser light. If a ratio of a spot diameter D1 of the condensed spots in the main scanning direction and a spot diameter D2 in a sub scanning direction satisfy a relationship of D1/D2?½ at the time of forming an image composed of a plurality of pixels on the recording medium 10 using laser light, high-speed thermosensitive recording and a recording method with an uncomplicated power control are realized without reducing the power density of the condensed spots.
