  • Patent number: 8803969
Abstract: A feature extracting unit obtains sensor data from a plurality of sensors to calculate each feature. When an event determining unit determines the occurrence of an event based on each feature, a display data constructor generates remote-controller display data for displaying the event. When an infrared sensor detects an abnormality, a microwave sensor whose power consumption is small after the infrared sensor is turned ON. When the microwave sensor detects an abnormality, a video camera and a microphone are turned ON, and the microwave sensor is turned OFF. A communication unit wirelessly transmits an image signal captured by the video camera and an audio signal processed by the microphone. Then, if the infrared sensor does not detect an abnormality, the video camera and the microphone are turned OFF.

  • Patent number: 8305383
Abstract: A data access apparatus has a memory portion including plural memory banks. A data storage control portion stores the pixel data in the plural memory banks with the pixel data being divided into the plural memory banks based on information on an access pattern of plural pixels set on a predetermined screen. A data access control portion reads pixel data relative to the plural pixels specified by the access pattern at the same time from the plural memory banks at each set position in which the set position of the access pattern moves from the start position thereof toward a pixel row direction. A selector portion transmits pixel data corresponding to respective pixels constituting each of the groups of pixels based on correspondence information on input and output. Each group of pixels includes a center pixel and peripheral pixels positioned at a periphery of the center pixel.

  • Patent number: 8072491
Abstract: An information processing system includes a sensor that obtains sensor data. The system also includes a feature extracting mechanism that extracts a feature of an object based on the sensor data obtained by the sensor. Further, the system includes an event determining mechanism that obtains the feature extracted by the feature extracting mechanism so as to determine whether an event has occurred based on determination parameters. In addition, the system includes a display-data generating mechanism that generates, when an occurrence of the event is determined by the event determining mechanism, display data including event data for reporting the occurrence of the event. A display displays an indication based on the event data. An input reception mechanism receives an input based on the indication displayed by the display. A controller turns off a power source of the sensor based on the input received by the input reception mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7840284
Abstract: An information processing apparatus performs a monitor processing based on sensor data. A first sensor obtains sensor data of a first format, the first format being video. A second sensor obtains sensor data of a second format, the second format being different from the first format. Surveilled features of an object are extracted from the sensor data obtained and compared to determination parameters in order to determine whether a surveillance event has occurred. When a surveillance event is determined to have occurred, message data reports the surveillance event to a further information processing apparatus. A decision signal is received from the further information processing apparatus, and a switch individually turns ON or OFF each of the first and second sensors according to the decision signal based on an instruction transmitted from the further information processing apparatus.
