  • Patent number: 8383980
Abstract: A laser processing unit includes a torch that is automatically mounted on a processing head. The torch has an assist gas chamber and a balance chamber, and the assist gas is supplied to the chambers. Constantly, equal pressures act on the both chambers, and an upward first force and a downward second force that act on a lens holder offset each other because pressure reception areas are equal. Gas is supplied to a gas spring chamber to provide a constant upward force to the lens holder. A driving device has an arm driven by a servomotor. The arm is in contact with a pin and the lens holder is moved to a predetermined position for automatically adjusting a focus position FC of a collective lens.

  • Patent number: 7754998
Abstract: The invention provides a focus adjuster for laser beam machine which adjusts focus by detecting reflected light of a laser beam in a laser beam machine. A laser beam outputted from a laser oscillator device 550 is reflected by a mirror 570 via an output mirror 560 and introduced into a laser machining tool. The laser beam collected by a machining lens 62 is reflected by a reflector plate M1 and sensed by a reflection detector 580. Automatic focus adjustment is achieved by sensing output of the reflected light as well as changes in focal position due to contamination of the machining lens 62.

  • Patent number: 7376329
Abstract: The invention provides a laser hardening tool having little laser output loss. The laser hardening tool 100 condenses the irradiated beams LB1 from a semiconductor laser stack 120 via a condensing optical lens 134, and creates parallel light beams LB3 via a diverging optical lens 142. The laser beams LB4 having been bent by a first mirror 160 travels through an optical waveguide 150 having a rectangular cross-sectional shape. The laser beams LB5 having been condensed by a re-condensing optical lens 170 are irradiated through a nozzle 190 to subject a work to hardening. The number of reflections of the laser beams LB4 in the angular optical waveguide 150 is small, and thus the loss of laser output is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080100616
Abstract: The invention provides a method for creating a three-dimensional solid model from a two-dimensional projection drawing created on a CAD screen via a simple operation. Reference points P1, P100 and P200 are respectively selected on a front view, a plan view and a right side view of a CAD screen. Line L1 is selected in step (1), and points P100 and P101 are selected in steps (2) and (3). By selecting lines L200 and L201 in steps (4) and (5), the coordinates of three-dimensional elements L300 and L301 are recognized. Thereafter, the procedure is repeated sequentially to recognize the whole shape of the product via points and lines. By recognizing closed shapes surrounded by lines as surfaces, it becomes possible to create a three-dimensional solid model via a simple method.
