  • Publication number: 20080053977
Abstract: The invention provides a laser processing system in which a heat density accumulated in a base material is computed based on nesting data in order to create an NC program for preventing processing defects. Upon cutting out works W1 through W9 from a base material B1, a nesting area N1 is defined as a sum of the lengths of lines S1 through S4, which is defined as NG1. A laser processing length dimension of the works W1 through W9 is computed by adding the line lengths L1 through L4 and the circumferential length C1 of a round hole and multiplying the result by nine, which is defined as LG1. The heat density HF1 is computed as HF1=LG1/NG1, and the heat density is compared with a parameter set in advance in order to determine a processing order for preventing processing defects by heat and to create a corresponding program.

  • Publication number: 20070235431
Abstract: The invention provides a laser hardening method capable of preventing adjacent already-hardened layers from being annealed. In the laser hardening method of the present invention, conduits C1, C2 and C3 are processed in advance midway between pitches P1 along which a hardening nozzle 190 performs overlap hardening. After moving the nozzle 190 along a center line L3 to process a hardening layer H23, the nozzle 190 is moved in parallel for a single pitch P1 to perform hardening of a hardening layer H24. Thermal energy E1 of the laser beam LB is also irradiated toward the direction of the hardening layer H23, but it is blocked by the conduit C3 that prevents the laser beam from annealing the hardening layer H23.

  • Publication number: 20070158318
Abstract: The invention provides a laser hardening tool having little laser output loss. The laser hardening tool 100 condenses the irradiated beams LB1 from a semiconductor laser stack 120 via a condensing optical lens 134, and creates parallel light beams LB3 via a diverging optical lens 142. The laser beams LB4 having been bent by a first mirror 160 travels through an optical waveguide 150 having a rectangular cross-sectional shape. The laser beams LB5 having been condensed by a re-condensing optical lens 170 are irradiated through a nozzle 190 to subject a work to hardening. The number of reflections of the laser beams LB4 in the angular optical waveguide 150 is small, and thus the loss of laser output is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7205502
Abstract: A reflector-mirror drive shaft controller is provided for a laser beam machine which optimizes a beam for workpiece thickness by correcting a control axis of a laser reflector-mirror of a laser beam machine. A laser beam outputted from a laser oscillator device of a laser beam machine is reflected by a reflector-mirror via an output mirror and introduced into a laser machining tool. When a machining head moves along an X axis, the reflector-mirror is moved along a U axis parallel to the X axis to keep optical path length constant. By giving an offset ? to U axis control, the incident beam diameter D to the machining lens is varied to form an optimum machining beam for workpiece thickness.
