  • Patent number: 5102349
Abstract: A detector circuit for coupled connectors is provided with one connector housing, the other connector housing and a lock confirming slider. A sensor circuit terminal and a short-circuiting terminal are oppositely arranged in respect to the one connector housing and the lock confirming slider. Springs are arranged between the terminals. The lock confirming slider is moved forward by the springs when both connector housings are completely fitted to each other. Thus, the sensor circuit terminal and the short-circuiting terminal are contacted to each other.

  • Patent number: 5071373
Abstract: The connector consists of a connector housing having terminal accommodating chambers, and a terminal locking block which is mounted to the rear portion of the connector housing in two steps, first in a provisionally-engaged condition and then in a full-engaged condition. When the terminal locking block is half-coupled to the connector housing, a full-engaging projection member formed on the terminal locking block contacts an inclined guide inner surface formed in a locking block receiving opening in the rear part of the connector housing. At the same time, engagement projections of full-engaging members formed on the terminal locking block abut against the provisionally-engaging portion of the connector housing.

  • Patent number: 5066252
Abstract: In an electric connector, a terminal retainer prevents accidental locking of the terminal retainer in a connector housing by requiring two locking steps. The connector housing includes a lid member with a recess which mates with a step of a window which also is provided in the connector housing. The recess mates with the step at two different positions, the first of which is a provisional locking position. At the second position, a locking arm grips the lid member, while the recess mates with the step at the second position. This is a complete locking position.

  • Patent number: 5059142
Abstract: An electric connector with a terminal conductor detaining mechanism for restraining terminal conductors from slipping out of the electric connector. The electric connector comprises: a connector shell having a plurality of terminal chambers and provided with a pair of flexible, temporary locking strips and with a pair of main locking parts; and a terminal conductor detaining member provided with a plurality of terminal conductor detaining fingers and a pair of flexible locking arms. The terminal conductor detaining member is combined temporarily with the connector shell with the fexible locking arms thereof engaging the flexible locking strips of the connector shell, respectively, to keep the connector shell and the terminal conductor detaining member in a temporarily combined state.

  • Patent number: 5051100
Abstract: An electrical connector has a protective cover which moves slidably between a first position, which exposes a plurality of metal terminals to corresponding portions of a printed circuit board, and a second position, which covers the terminals. Unless the connector is inserted properly, the protective cover will cover the terminals, preventing contact with the printed circuit board. A detecting piece on a mating connector housing the printed circuit contacts moves the protective cover when the connector is inserted into the mating connector.

  • Patent number: 5048161
Abstract: A connector having an improved mechanism for its lock onto a panel. A housing of the connector has a wall on which a sliding rail capable of slidingly fitting onto guide rails of the panel is provided. A flexible engagement member having an engagement projection engageable with an engagement projection of the panel is formed in a portion of the wall by cutting a part of the wall. When the sliding rail is slid on the guide rail to fit thereon, the flexible engagement member is deformed and has its position changed toward the inside of the housing while its engagement projection abuts on the engagement projection of the panel until the member recovers its original position upon the engagement between the projections. The arrangement of the flexible engagement member is advantageous in that it does not require any deformation distance to be provided on the outside of the housing, thereby enabling the entire connector to be compact.
