  • Patent number: 6463235
Abstract: A light-sensitive unit used in an image-forming device such as an electrostatic copier or printer, which enables one to easily mount and demount a light-sensitive drum without removing an electrically charging device and with no fear of damaging an edge of a cleaning blade. A second process unit (light-sensitive unit) has a resin-made frame having a cleaning device and includes a light-sensitive drum and an electrically charging device, which are removably mounted therein respectively. The light-sensitive drum is mounted in the frame by first axially inserting its rear-end bearing portion into a rear-side drum-holder and by horizontally turning its front-end bearing portion and placing it in a front-side drum-holder along a guide groove provided in the side thereof. Finally, a stopper is fitted in the front-side drum-holder to prevent the drum from slipping out of the holder.

  • Patent number: 6455962
Abstract: A terminal of a motor is provided, in which a connection between a coil and an external circuit can be carried out securely and with a good workability, while saving material resources and enhancing safety relating to environmental pollution. A terminal (23) consists integrally of a magnet wire binding section (20) to connect to a magnet wire (4) of a coil (6), an external connection section (21) to connect to an external circuit and a support base section (22) to press-fit into a terminal block (19) of a bobbin (5) and hold the terminal (23), and the magnet wire (4) is plasma welded for connection through to the external connection section (21) (terminal 23). The connection of the terminal is carried out by welding (plasma welding), thus the end of the magnet wire of a motor (1) is connected without using solder containing lead. As a result, since lead is not used, material resources can be saved and safety relating to the environmental pollution can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6421514
Abstract: A charging device which has a grid disposed between a discharge element and the photosensitive drum. The grid is formed of a regulating portion having a mesh configuration for the range opposing the image area on the photosensitive drum and non-regulating portions with openings for the range opposing the non-image area. The flow of ions discharged from the discharge element is regulated as to their passage through the grid thereby so as to be uniform and charge the image area on the photosensitive drum uniformly. The flow of ions reaches the non-image area without being shaded by the grid, so as to enhance the surface potential for prevention against toner adherence.

  • Patent number: 6411006
Abstract: Electromagnetic conversion efficiency of an electric rotary machine is enhanced and reduction of leakage flux due to magnetic discontinuity can be realized without providing holes for positioning and fixing salient poles in a stator ring. Outer appearance and decency of the electric rotary machine as a product are also improved by not allowing lower ends of salient poles of an armature assembly to be exposed on an outer surface of the electric rotary machine. For this purpose a radial gap type electric rotary machine comprises a field magnetic pole consisting of a permanent magnet which is supported rotatably and an armature assembly consisting of a plurality of divided salient poles which oppose the field magnetic pole with a small air gap therebetween and are radially arranged with respect to a rotation axis. The armature assembly includes a first ring made of a soft magnetic member for receiving the plurality of salient poles and a second ring made of a soft magnet member for receiving the first ring.

  • Patent number: 5762422
Abstract: A bearing apparatus for use in an floppy disc drive device motor having a sleeve bearing and a thrust bearing is provided which is characterized in that there is provided a thrust bearing having such a convex portion, a projection, or a concave portion that makes the rotation shaft of the motor inclined with respect to the center axis of the sleeve bearing. Therefore, the rotation shaft ofa motor can be forcibly inclined with the rotation shaft and the sleeve bearing being kept in contact with each other. In addition, it is possible to reduce deviation in inclination of the motor rotation shaft and to ensure electric conductance between the motor rotation shaft and the motor body. These advantages are attained by a specific structure in which a projection, a convex portion, or a concave portion is provided at the thrust bearing, and therefore, the structure is simple and requires low costs.
