  • Publication number: 20050076371
Abstract: A mobile phone is connected to a television receiver and receives a television program. The received television program is sequentially compressed based on the scheme of MPEG4, sent to a server through a base station and a network, and stored in the server. A user of the mobile phone can reproduce the stored television program on a display section by sending a signal to the server to make the server send the stored television program. The mobile phone may have a camera. Moving picture data taken by the camera can be similarly stored in the server and reproduced on the display section of the mobile phone. A computer can access the moving picture data through the network.

  • Patent number: 6339579
Abstract: In an optical disc apparatus, a semiconductor SLD driving device is mounted on an optical pickup in order to realize a high speed switching of drive current for a semiconductor laser diode (SLD), necessary for recording data. The SLD is placed. within 5 cm from the SLD driving device. The driving device becomes a heat source due to driving current of the SLD, and increases a temperature of the optical pickup. Since the temperature rises proportionally to power consumption, power saving is required. A voltage supplied to the driving device is controlled to be a minimum level necessary for keeping the driving device still working on basic functions. The SLD driving device is mounted to the optical pickup, and this driving device handles N pieces of input signals for setting semiconductor laser power and N pieces of switch-timing-input-signals for selecting respective input signals.

  • Patent number: 6201963
Abstract: When a mobile station enters into a service area of a non-subscriber communication system and uses it with a roaming service, the mobile station receives system information from a repeater station of the communication system, recognizes user interface information included in the system information, and switches the user interface of the subscriber communication system to a user interface of the non-subscriber communication system corresponding to the recognized user interface information. Thus, the mobile station can effectively use the roaming service and thereby conveniently use the mobile communication system.

  • Patent number: 5548594
Abstract: In an automatic gain control circuit which has a variable gain amplifier 30 for amplifying an input TDM reception signal 160 in accordance with a controllable gain, an analog-to-digital converter 40 for converting an amplified TDM reception signal 170 into a digital signal 180, and control section 50 for determining an optimized value of the controllable gain in response to the digital signal 180 so as to supply the variable gain amplifier 30 with the optimized value of the controllable gain, the optimized value of the controllable gain is determined by the use of a signal of the time slot S(-1) immediately before the predetermined time slot S(0) when receiving the input TDM reception signal 160.

  • Patent number: 4841193
Abstract: A fluorescent lamp device with an incandescent bulb type base cap. The fluorescent lamp device has a luminous tube unit and a case with one end supporting the luminous tube unit, and the other end has an outwardly projecting portion. A ballast is provided in the case, and a base cap is adapted to be rotatably fitted to the projecting portion of the case. The outer periphery of the projecting portion of the case has an engagement groove formed in it and a stopper portion which is formed in the axial direction of the case. An engagement portion, a guide groove and a rotation limiting groove having a rotation stopper portion are successively provided for the inner surface at one end of the base cap disposed in that order starting from the one end of the base cap.
