Abstract: An athletic shoe that includes an attached gel layer. The attached gel layer is located in between the sole and the insole of the shoe, with the attached gel layer having an outer casing and a volume of gel within the outer casing. A covering is attached to both the insole and the sole and includes an attached tongue, which can be tightened as needed over an individual's foot by the use of a tongue attached to the covering and a lace that is passed through a number of eyelets on the covering adjacent to the tongue.
