Athletic Shoe

Abstract

An athletic shoe that includes an attached gel layer. The attached gel layer is located in between the sole and the insole of the shoe, with the attached gel layer having an outer casing and a volume of gel within the outer casing. A covering is attached to both the insole and the sole and includes an attached tongue, which can be tightened as needed over an individual's foot by the use of a tongue attached to the covering and a lace that is passed through a number of eyelets on the covering adjacent to the tongue.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Various types of athletic shoes are known in the prior art. However, what is needed is an athletic shoe that includes both a level of ground friction support and a shock resistant layer that cushions against the rigors of high-stress use.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an athletic shoe, and more particularly, to an athletic shoe that provides features and characteristics above and beyond existing athletic shoes available today.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The general purpose of the present athletic shoe, described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide an athletic shoe which has many novel features that result in an athletic shoe which is not anticipated, rendered obvious, suggested, or even implied by prior art, either alone or in combination thereof.

To accomplish this, the present athletic shoe includes an attached gel layer that is located in between a sole and the insole, with the attached gel layer having an outer casing and a volume of gel within the outer casing. A covering is attached to both the insole and the sole and includes an attached tongue, which can be tightened as needed over an individual's foot by the use of a tongue attached to the covering and a lace that is passed through a number of eyelets on the covering adjacent to the tongue.

Thus has been broadly outlined the more important features of the present athletic shoe so that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, an example of the instant athletic shoe employing the principles and concepts of the present athletic shoe and generally designated by the reference number 2 will be described.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, a preferred embodiment of the present athletic shoe 2 is illustrated. The athletic shoe 2 comprises a sole 4 that has two surfaces comprising an upper surface 6 and a lower surface 8. Furthermore, the sole 4 also has two ends comprising a front end 10 and a rear end 12.

Sole 4 has a plurality of cleats 14 attached to the lower surface 8 of the sole 4 and these cleats 14 are evenly spaced out on the sole 4.

An enclosed gel layer 16 is attached to the upper surface 6 of the sole 4. Gel layer 16 comprises an outer casing 18 that is filled with a volume of gel 20. Outer casing 18 is very durable but mildly pliable, wile the volume of gel 20 within the outer casing 18 allows the gel layer 16 to be mildly flexible when the athletic shoe 2 is in use.

Insole 22 is attached to the enclosed gel layer 16 and is located within covering 24, which generally envelops an individual's foot while the athletic shoe 2 is in use. Covering 24 is attached to both the insole 22 and the upper surface 6 of the sole 4. Covering 24 can be tightly fitted to an individual's foot by adjusting the tongue 26 of the athletic shoe 2 and then tightening the lace 28 that is associated with the athletic shoe 2. The tongue 26 is attached to the covering 24 of the athletic shoe 2. The lace 28 utilized with the shoe is inserted through a series of eyelets 30 that are located on the covering 24 of the athletic shoe 2 adjacent to the tongue 26 of the athletic shoe 2 and tightened as needed.

Claims

1. An athletic shoe comprising:

a sole, the sole having two surfaces comprising an upper surface and a lower surface, the sole also having two ends comprising a front end and a rear end;

an enclosed gel layer, wherein the enclosed gel layer is attached to the upper surface of the sole;

an insole, wherein the insole is attached to the enclosed gel layer;

a covering, wherein the covering is attached to the insole;

a tongue, wherein the tongue is attached to the covering;

a plurality of eyelets, wherein each eyelet of the plurality of eyelets is located on the covering adjacent to the tongue;

a lace;

wherein the lace is inserted through each of the eyelets of the plurality of eyelets that are located on the covering and tightened as needed.

2. An athletic shoe according to claim 1 wherein the enclosed gel layer further comprises:

an outer casing; and

a volume of gel located within the outer casing.

3. An athletic shoe according to claim 2 wherein the athletic shoe further comprises:

a plurality of cleats;

wherein each of the cleats of the plurality of cleats are attached to the lower surface of the sole.

4. An athletic shoe according to claim 3 wherein each of the cleats of the plurality of cleats are evenly spaced out on the sole.

5. An athletic shoe according to claim 4 wherein the insole is attached to the upper surface of the sole.

6. An athletic shoe comprising:

a sole, the sole having two surfaces comprising an upper surface and a lower surface, the sole also having two ends comprising a front end and a rear end;

an enclosed gel layer, wherein the enclosed gel layer is attached to the upper surface of the sole, wherein the enclosed gel layer further comprises: an outer casing; and a volume of gel located within the outer casing;

an insole, wherein the insole is attached to the enclosed gel layer; wherein the insole is also attached to the upper surface of the sole;

a covering, wherein the covering is attached to the insole;

a tongue, wherein the tongue is attached to the covering;

a plurality of eyelets, wherein each eyelet of the plurality of eyelets is located on the covering adjacent to the tongue;

a lace, wherein the lace is inserted through each of the eyelets of the plurality of eyelets that are located on the covering and tightened as needed; and

a plurality of cleats, wherein each of the cleats of the plurality of cleats are attached to the lower surface of the sole; wherein each of the cleats of the plurality of cleats are evenly spaced out on the sole.
