  • Patent number: 11963243
Abstract: Aspects relate to establishing a signaling connection between a radio access network (RAN) node and a first scheduling entity. The RAN node may communicate in a dual connectivity (DC) mode of operation with the first scheduling entity (e.g., a secondary gNB) using a first radio access technology (RAT) and with a second scheduling entity (e.g., a master eNB) using a second RAT. The RAN node and the first scheduling entity may support sending information for a first signaling connection between the RAN node and the first scheduling entity over a second signaling connection through the second scheduling entity (e.g., when the second signaling connection is more reliable than the first signaling connection). To establish the second signaling connection, the RAN node and the first scheduling entity may signal support for the second signaling connection and exchange Internet Protocol information for the second signaling connection.

  • Patent number: 11962398
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating a programmable smart repeater with in-band control are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a repeater includes establishing a control link with a control node and receiving, via the control link, a configuration of one or more parameters of the repeater to forward communication between a first wireless device and a second wireless device. The example method also includes transitioning an MT component of the repeater to a power saving mode for at least a period of time after receiving the configuration and forwarding the communication between the first wireless device and the second wireless device based on the one or more parameters in the configuration. The disclosed techniques may enable reduction in control signaling between the control node and the repeater to provide power savings for the MT of the repeater and lower signal overhead for the control node.

  • Patent number: 11963016
Abstract: A node may identify a node configuration including one or more surface phase configurations associated with the node. In one configuration, the node may receive, from the base station, an indication of the node configuration. In another configuration, the node may select, at a controller associated with the node, the node configuration. The one or more surface phase configurations may be based on a wavelength corresponding to a center of a BWP associated with the one or more wireless signals or a wavelength corresponding to a center of a resource allocation associated with the one or more wireless signals. The node may forward, from a base station to a UE, or from the UE to the base station, one or more wireless signals. The forwarded one or more wireless signals may be associated with a beam squint less than a first threshold.

  • Patent number: 11963184
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may be scheduled by a base station for full-duplex sidelink transmissions. A first UE may receive, from a base station, a first sidelink grant indicating a first set of resources and a second set of resources. The first set of resources may at least partially overlap in time with the second set of resources. Upon receiving the first sidelink, the first UE may transmit, to a second wireless device, a second sidelink grant indicating the second set of resources. The first UE may transmit a first data message to the second UE over the first set of resources and receive a second data message from the second device over the second set of resources.

  • Patent number: 11963098
Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support modem control using millimeter wave (mmW) energy measurement. Generally, the described techniques provide for wireless device (e.g., wireless repeater) power savings in the absence of an attached (e.g., connected) user equipment (UE). For example, a wireless repeater may perform relay operations (e.g., amplification and forwarding operations) for communications between a base station and a UE in some channel (e.g., in a mmW channel). The wireless repeater may use energy measurements in the channel (e.g., analog mmW measurements) to control or configure a digital interface for monitoring out of band control information (e.g., in a sub-6 gigahertz (GHz) channel). For example, a wireless repeater may use energy measurements of signals transmitted by devices in a mmW band to configure (e.g., turn on) a digital interface of another modem to monitor for control information in a sub-6 GHz band.

  • Patent number: 11956182
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring multi-beam full-duplex communication that allows a device (e.g., user equipment (UE) or base station) to contemporaneously perform both uplink and downlink communication over the same frequency band. Because of the full duplex communication capability provided by the present disclosure, the NR system may achieve reduced latency and improved spectrum and resource efficiency, thereby accommodating a growing demands for the wireless communication. The full duplex communication capability may be achieved by implementing downlink control information (DCI) format that specifies to the UE the beam assignments for contemporaneous transmission (Tx) and reception (Rx).
