  • Publication number: 20240064696
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive a paging indication over a physical downlink control channel. The UE may determine a position of the UE relative to a network entity. The UE may determine, based on the position of the UE, a subset of beams available to the network entity for transmitting a paging message. The subset of beams may be less than a quantity of beams available to the network entity for transmitting the paging message and a coverage area of the subset of beams may include the position of the UE. The UE may monitor, based on receiving the paging indication, the subset of beams over a physical downlink shared channel for the paging message.

  • Publication number: 20240064741
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described herein. To support network energy savings, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, control signaling that indicates a configuration for measuring uplink packet delay for transmission of a packet. The UE may generate a measurement of the uplink packet delay for transmission of the packet. The measurement may correspond to a duration between a packet arrival time at a packet data convergence protocol layer of the UE and a transmission or a retransmission of the packet. The UE may transmit control signaling that indicates the generated measurement. The network entity may obtain the measurement and evaluate whether to switch a cell to an off state based on the obtained measurement.

  • Publication number: 20240064854
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Idle discontinuous reception (I-DRX) configurations may be managed on a per beam or a per subset of beams basis. The network may indicate, via system information, the I-DRX configuration for a given beam or subset of beams. A user equipment (UE) in an idle mode may receive paging occasions via the given beam in accordance with the indicated I-DRX configuration for that beam. In some examples, system information may indicate a list of beams and corresponding I-DRX configurations for each beam in the list of beams. In some examples, system information may indicate the I-DRX configuration for the beam on which the system information is transmitted. If a UE changes beams, the UE may receive system information via the new beam that indicates an I-DRX configuration for the new beam before applying the I-DRX configuration to the new beam.

  • Publication number: 20240057098
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support one or more signaling-based mechanisms according to which the network entity may inform the UE of which time and frequency resources may be used for full-duplex communication. The network entity transmit a first message to configure multiple resource block (RB) sets for the UE, where each RB set is associated with unique identifying information. To inform the UE of which time and frequency resources may be used for full-duplex communication, the network entity may transmit a second message that indicates one or more slot formats on a per RB set basis. As such, the network entity may schedule the UE for full-duplex communication in accordance with indicating that overlapping symbols of a first RB set and a second RB set are allocated for uplink and downlink, respectively.

  • Patent number: 11895623
Abstract: In one aspect, resource selection may be performed where single frequency full-duplex (SFFD) UEs are present in a V2X system. Signaling and procedures may enable the coexistence of half-duplex (HD) and SFFD-capable UEs. Based on the resource reservation information obtained from other UEs, the SFFD UE may determine which among the reserved time-frequency resources is amenable for performing the SFFD operation. In one aspect, the time-frequency resources chosen for SFFD may partially or fully overlap with the reserved time-frequency resources, based on the self-interference cancellation capability of the SFFD UE, the RSRP, and/or the RSSI on the reserved time-frequency resources. Accordingly, the full-duplex capability of an SFFD-capable UE may be leveraged, and spectral efficiency improved.
