  • Patent number: 6980071
Abstract: A trip system for a circuit breaker having a support frame, a trip unit, a crossbar, and a trip bar, is disclosed. The trip unit is responsive to an electric current for generating a trip force, the crossbar is directly coupled to the trip unit and to the support frame, and the trip bar is directly coupled to the support frame. The electric current at the trip unit generates a trip force that acts upon the trip bar to trip the circuit breaker. The crossbar remains substantially stationary during the tripping action.

  • Patent number: 6956452
Abstract: A trip system for a circuit breaker having a calibration system is disclosed. The calibration system includes a retainer, a tripping member responsive to an electric current, an actuator retained by the retainer, a spring adjuster adjustably engaged with the actuator and the tripping member, and a bias spring disposed for biasing the actuator in a first direction. Movement of the spring adjuster absent movement of the actuator and the tripping member results in a change in the bias spring force and no change in the position of the tripping member, and movement of the tripping member absent movement of the spring adjuster results in a change in the position of the tripping member and no change in the bias spring force.

  • Patent number: 6855547
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and compositions for in vitro cultivation of species of Swertia, e.g. Swertia chirata (Ham.). The disclosure provides culture media comprising Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal culture medium, plant hormones preferably selected from the group consisting of benzyladenine (BAP), gibberellic acid (GA3), and auxins, and other additives, e.g. sucrose and agar. Preferably, auxins are selected from the group consisting of indole acetic acid (IAA), indole butyric acid (IBA), and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). Individual plant hormone concentrations are preferably from about 0.5 mg/L to about 5.0 mg/L.

  • Patent number: 6823507
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product are disclosed for detecting memory-related errors in a computer program during compiling of the computer program. In the method, static analysis is performed upon a computer program. One or more conditions in the computer program are computed based on the static analysis. Each condition is a test for checking a memory access in the computer program and can be either a pre- or post-condition. The validity of each condition in the computer program is then evaluated. If the evaluation is determinate during compiling, the presence or absence of memory-related errors in the computer program is reported. A condition is determinate if the condition is valid or invalid during compiling. Otherwise, computer code based on the condition is generated for incorporation in the computer program for run-time detection of memory-related errors.

  • Patent number: 6750743
Abstract: A circuit breaker for a multi-pole electrical distribution circuit includes a cassette associated with each pole in the multi-pole electrical distribution circuit. Each cassette includes a housing, a pair of electrical contacts disposed in the housing, and a thermal and magnetic trip unit supported by the housing. The housing includes a first compartment having the electrical contacts disposed therein and a second compartment having at least a portion of the thermal and magnetic trip unit disposed therein. A wall separates the first and second compartments for isolating the second compartment from gasses generated by separation of the first and second contacts. A duct adjacent to the second compartment allows the gasses to pass to an exterior portion of the housing. The housing includes a pair of opposing slots formed therein for receiving edges of a load terminal.

  • Publication number: 20030079209
Abstract: A code optimizing procedure involves isolating code from a loop construct, executed a predetermined number of times, and optimizing the code for execution conditions which cause the loop to be executed that number of times. This code is compared against corresponding code which has not be optimized, and it is determined whether the inclusion of this code is favorable. If the benefits of including this code are judged to be significant, the code is modified by inclusion of this optimized code, which is conditionally executed when the loop is encountered.
