  • Publication number: 20180019859
Abstract: Aspects described herein generally relate to communicating between a user equipment (UE) and a cell using frequency division duplexing (FDD) to separate an uplink frequency band and a downlink frequency band with the cell. An indicator can be transmitted from the cell and received by the UE to implement time division duplexing (TDD) on the uplink frequency band. Based at least in part on the indicator, communicating between the UE and the cell can include separating the uplink frequency band into a plurality of downlink subframes for receiving downlink communications from the cell and a plurality of uplink subframes for transmitting uplink communications to the cell.

  • Patent number: 9872193
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing periodic CSI reports and/or aperiodic CSI reports to provide CSI for both anchor and non-anchor TDD subframes in eIMTA. Periodic CSI reports may be provided based on a reference configuration, and aperiodic CSI reports may be provided based on a time of reception of a CSI request and a reference configuration. A UE may determine to report anchor or non-anchor CSI through explicit or implicit signaling. Aperiodic CSI may be used for transmission of anchor subframe CSI reports and periodic CSI may be used for transmission of non-anchor subframe CSI reports, or aperiodic CSI may be used for transmission of non-anchor subframe CSI reports and periodic CSI may be used for transmission of anchor subframe CSI reports. A determination of the reference subframe for aperiodic CSI estimation may be based on a time of receipt of an aperiodic CSI request.

  • Publication number: 20180013539
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines an interference type between a time division duplex (TDD) configuration subframe of a serving cell and a corresponding TDD configuration subframe of a neighboring cell, and sets a transmit power for an apparatus in the serving cell based on the interference type. The apparatus in the serving cell may be a user equipment (UE), in which case the apparatus applies a set of uplink (UL) open loop power control parameters for the UE. The apparatus in the serving cell may be a base station (eNB), in which case a DL transmit power is set for the eNB. Depending on the interference type, the DL transmit power may be a fixed, full power DL transmission or an adjusted DL transmission.

  • Publication number: 20170343642
Abstract: Neighbor cell hearability can be improved by including an additional reference signal that can be detected at a low sensitivity and a low signal-to-noise ratio, by introducing non-unity frequency reuse for the signals used for a time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurement, e.g., orthogonality of signals transmitted from the serving cell sites and the various neighbor cell sites. The new reference signal, called the TDOA-RS, is proposed to improve the hearability of neighbor cells in a cellular network that deploys 3GPP EUTRAN (LTE) system, and the TDOA-RS can be transmitted in any resource blocks (RB) for PDSCH and/or MBSFN subframe, regardless of whether the latter is on a carrier supporting both PMCH and PDSCH or not. Besides the additional TDOA-RS reference signal, an additional synchronization signal (TDOA-sync) may also be included to improve the hearability of neighbor cells.

  • Patent number: 9826528
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for reconfiguring a user equipment (UE) to operate in a reconfigured TDD UL-DL configuration. An initial uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration for TDD communication may be provided for communication between an e Node B and a UE. One or more subframes within each frame transmitted using the initial UL-DL configuration may be identified as flexible subframes. The identification of flexible subframes may permit the identification of timing for HARQ transmissions that does not change when a reconfiguration takes place. A different UL-DL configuration may be transmitted to the UE, in which at least one flexible subframe is to be changed from an uplink subframe to a downlink subframe. The different UL-DL configuration may be transmitted by, for example, a pseudo-uplink grant to the UE, which indicates that the UE is to reconfigure one or more flexible subframes from uplink to downlink transmission.

  • Publication number: 20170318586
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for managing resources for cooperative uplink transmission. A base station may determine different groups for a plurality of user equipments (UEs) participating in cooperative uplink transmission, and transmit mode configurations indicating whether or not UEs in each group are configured to transmit data as a data source or to relay data received from another UE configured to transmit data as a data source. A UE may participate, with one or more other UEs, in cooperative uplink transmission to the base station, wherein each UE belongs to a group. The UE may determine, for a transmission time interval (TTI), at least one operation to perform for the cooperative uplink transmission based, at least in part, on a group number of a group to which the UE belongs and an index of the TTI.

  • Publication number: 20170041055
Abstract: The present invention provides for an improved application of signal strength weightings in a SDMA sectorized cellular network. The improved signal strength weightings application is conducted through the improved selection of weightings from a new codebook subset or by the selection of weightings from a larger codebook subset. In a further embodiment, an antenna beam index or bit map can be used to select the best beam(s) in a SDMA sectorized cellular network. In another embodiment, a field or factor in an uplink or downlink transmission packet can designate which directional transmission beam is best suited for the transmission or when the directional transmission beam should be activated.

  • Publication number: 20170034828
Abstract: A mobile station receives a downlink control structure in a first carrier, where the downlink control structure indicates that control information for the mobile station is on a second, different carrier. The mobile station decodes the control information in the second carrier, where the control information specitl.es resource allocation of a wireless link for the mobile station. More specifically, according to some implementations, the control channel in the first carrier specifies the resource allocation for an extended control channel in the second carrier, where the extended control channel specifies the resource allocation for traffic data of a wireless link for the mobile station.
