  • Publication number: 20100020486
Abstract: An electronic system includes a chassis defining a substantially plane-shaped cavity. The chassis is arranged to contain an air stream (e.g., provided by a cooling subsystem) which flows from an air intake side of the chassis to an air exhaust side of the chassis through the substantially plane-shaped cavity. The air intake side of the chassis is opposite the air exhaust side of the chassis. The electronic system further includes a jacket circuit board disposed within the plane-shaped cavity, and a set of pluggable electronic modules. The jacket circuit board is oriented within the plane-shaped cavity to receive cooling from the air stream. Each pluggable electronic module is arranged to (i) electronically connect to the jacket circuit board through a front of the chassis and (ii) define a supplemental ventilation port through which air passes to augment the air stream.

  • Publication number: 20050184309
Abstract: A process for fabricating ohmic contacts in a field-effect transistor includes the steps of: thinning a semiconductor layer forming recessed portions in the semiconductor layer; depositing ohmic contact over the recessed portions; and heating the deposited ohmic contacts. The field-effect transistor comprises a layered semiconductor structure which includes a first group III nitride compound semiconductor layer doped with a charge carrier, and a second group III nitride compound semiconductor layer positioned below the first layer, to generate an electron gas in the structure. After the heating step the ohmic contacts communicate with the electron gas. As a result, an excellent ohmic contact to the channel of the transistor is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050033422
Abstract: An intraocular lens for insertion into a capsular bag in order to focus incoming light toward a retina and process for manufacturing thereof along with concomitant reduced glare and improved vision provides for a center lens portion of a lens for focusing incoming light toward the retina and the surrounding lens portion for mounting the lens within the capsular bag. A surface roughness disposed on the surrounding lens portion is provided for reducing the glare due to non-focused light directed toward the retina from the intraocular lens with the roughness having a roughness level of between about Ra 45 and about Ra 350.

  • Patent number: 6385053
Abstract: A guide device receives and engages a cutout in a distal pin-bearing edge of a printed circuit board for aligning pins with pin sockets. The alignment device includes a web, sized and shaped to be received in a circuit board cutout and a shelf surface for engaging a part of a major surface of the circuit board, to provide for biaxial guidance during board insertion. By positioning guide devices and circuit board cutouts in different locations, for different circuit boards, insertion of circuit boards in an incorrect slot or location is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4473585
Abstract: A carboxylic acid, its salts, esters and derivatives, in which the hydrogen atoms have been replaced, partly or entirely, by deuterium has an antimycotic effect, probably because the fungi cannot metabolize the deuteriated substance. The deuteriated substances can be used for treating living plants, seeds and wood against the attack of destructive fungi, and for curing pathogenic infections of fungi in humans and animals.
