  • Publication number: 20170181220
Abstract: Apparatus and Method for Decoupling an Uplink Enhanced Dedicated Channel and High Speed Downlink Shared Channel A method in a network node for decoupling an uplink enhanced dedicated channel, E-DCH, and a high speed downlink shared channel, HS-DSCH, comprises determining whether a radio link message contains a E-DCH decoupling indication (step 201). Where it is determined that the radio link message does not contain an E-DCH decoupling indication, the method comprises controlling a base station node to reject a radio link procedure in the event that a serving E-DCH radio link and a serving HS-DSCH radio link are not configured in the same cell (step 203).

  • Publication number: 20170150550
Abstract: The proposed technology relates to the issue of supporting release of common radio resources in a radio communication network. A radio network controller sends an indication of a value of a timer for implicit release of common radio resources to a base station. The base station receives the indication of a value of a timer for implicit release of common radio resources and determines whether to release common radio resources based on the indication of a value of the timer for implicit release of common radio resources. In this way, by using the indication of a value of the timer for implicit release the base station will be able to correctly determine whether to release the common resources upon reception of a report of empty buffer status from a UE. This will eliminate misinterpretations of the empty buffer status report, and avoid unnecessary radio link failures.

  • Publication number: 20170099697
Abstract: A method for Radio Resource Control—RRC—configuration comprises obtaining (210) User Equipment—UE—condition parameters. The UE condition parameters comprise at least a round trip time and a scheduler processing time. A timer value recommendation for the particular UE is calculated (220) in the Node B. The timer value recommendation is equal or larger than a sum of the round trip time and the scheduler processing time. The timer value recommendation is transmitted (230) to a Radio Network Controller—RNC. The RNC receives (260) the timer value recommendation. A RRC configuration is performed (280) by the RNC with a timer value according to the timer value recommendation. Alternatively, the timer value recommendation is calculated in the RNC based on UE condition parameters provided by the Node B. Node B's and RNC performing these methods are also presented as well as computer programs and computer program products therefore.

Abstract: The proposed technology relates to the issue of supporting release of common radio resources in a radio communication network. • Patent number: 9554373
Abstract: Base stations and Radio Network Controllers, RNCs, and methods in such devices are disclosed. A base station (18) sends access indications to a RNC (20) indicating assignments and/or releases of common uplink resources. The RNC (20) uses the access indications received from the base station (18) to differentiate between successive accesses on the common uplink resources by a same User Equipment, UE (22), and to correspondingly differentiate between the processing of given data frames from the UE (22) as belonging to one or other of the successive accesses.
