  • Publication number: 20240382011
Abstract: A resilient unit 2400 is made up of modules 2400A-2400E, each comprising a central core of pocketed springs and a peripheral frame comprising one or more pads or blocks of recyclable polymeric material. Intermediate modules 2400C, 2400D and 2400E are provided between base module 2400A and upper module 2400B. The intermediate modules can be selected and combined to provide a mattress with very specific characteristics, in accordance with a user's requirements.

  • Publication number: 20240353662
Abstract: A light harvester or collector collects solar radiation from an unshaded location adjacent a growing plant. The light harvester can be either imaging (e.g., parabolic reflectors) or non-imaging (e.g., compound parabolic concentrator). The concentrated solar radiation is projected into a light transmitter that conducts the light through the plant's outer canopy and into the inner canopy to a diffuser which disperses and reradiates the light into the inner canopy. The diffused light transforms a non-productive, potentially leafless zone of the plant into a productive zone so that more fruit can be produced per volume of land surface. The system can prevent transmission of infrared into the inner canopy so that the inner canopy zone is not heated and the amount of water lost to transpiration is reduced. The system can also modify other spectral components to affect plant development and to control pests and diseases.

  • Patent number: 11963548
Abstract: A portable inhalation apparatus is provided comprising a base and a collapsible stem assembly. In some embodiments, the portable inhalation apparatus is a smoking pipe. The collapsible stem assembly may have an extended position in which the stem assembly extends away from the base and a collapsed position in which the stem assembly is collapsed towards the base. When the stem assembly is in the collapsed position, the smoking pipe may be in a compact form to store and transport the smoking pipe. The stem assembly may comprise at least two stem sections and at least one articulating connection interconnecting the stem sections. A related method for making a portable inhalation apparatus is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220124988
Abstract: Provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for sunlight delivery, shoot positioning, canopy division, positioning fruit into distinct zones, managing fruit maturity and quality, rain, wind, and hail protection, and reducing canopy management and harvest labor of one or more plants on a trellis comprising one or more panels and a standoff, wherein the panels divide the growth of plant shoots on the trellis, thereby modifying growth or development of the plants. In some embodiments, the panels collect light energy and direct the collected light energy to the plants, thereby modifying growth or development of the plants and their producing of fruit.
