  • Patent number: 11405913
Abstract: Disclosed herein are related to a system and a method of remotely rendering artificial reality. In one approach, a console determines an expected transmission end time of a first session for wireless transmission of image data indicating an image of artificial reality to a head wearable display. In one approach, the console determines an expected process end time of generating additional data associated with the image of the artificial reality. In one approach, the console compares the expected transmission end time and the expected process end time. The console may transmit, to the head wearable display in the first session, the additional data together with the image data, in response to the expected process end time being less than the expected transmission end time.

  • Publication number: 20220180394
Abstract: An on-line marketplace provides systems and methods for a mutually beneficial messaging campaign with one or more merchants, in order to promote the merchants' products. One aspect of the messaging campaign includes augmenting the merchants' budgets across multiple commercial channels. The channels may include merchant-operated channels, marketplace-operated channels, and/or third party channels. The marketplace selects when and how to augment the merchants' budgets. The augmented budget comprises an overall content budget for the messaging campaign, including a first budget portion provided by the merchant(s) and a second budget portion provided by the on-line marketplace. The augmented budget may be determined based on a weighted combination of goals of the marketplace and one or more merchants. The augmented budget may be segmented into static and dynamic portions, in which the dynamic portion is varied between channels to determine variables to optimize budget allocation and message performance.

  • Publication number: 20220102091
Abstract: Example aspects of the present disclosure are directed to an electrical switch with an adjustable tactile profile and/or an adjustable audio profile. One example includes an electrical switch with a pushbutton, a plunger, two metal contacts, a biasing spring, and a housing body. A user can press and move the pushbutton. The pushbutton's movement can move the plunger. The plunger's movement can cause the plunger to create or break a conductive connection between the metal contacts. Specifically, at least one unique actuator surface of two or more unique actuator surfaces on the plunger can engage the metal contacts. Changing the tactile profile can involve changing the unique actuator surface engaging the metal contacts. The conductive connection can indicate whether the electrical switch is in an unpressed or pressed state. The biasing spring can bias the electrical switch to the unpressed state. The housing body can contain the other components.

  • Patent number: 11195291
Abstract: A depth camera assembly (DCA) optimizes illumination and image capture of a local area to generate depth information of the local area. The DCA determines depth information for a first portion of the local area viewable at a first pose. The DCA is moved from the first pose to a second pose, where a second portion of the local area is viewable and overlaps with the first portion. The overlapping region is not illuminated by the DCA. A non-overlapping portion of the second portion is illuminated, captured, and depth information determined.

  • Patent number: 11163165
Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMD) includes an electronic display element, a microlens array, and an optics block. The electronic display element outputs image light via sub-pixels having different colors, the sub-pixels separated from each other by a dark space region. The sub-pixels have associated emission distributions that describe ranges of angles of light emitted from the plurality of sub-pixels. The microlens array includes microlenses that are each coupled to at least one corresponding sub-pixel, of the sub-pixels, where the microlenses concentrate the emission distributions and direct the emission distributions toward a target region. The optics block, which is located in the target region optically corrects the image light and directs the optically corrected image light from the microlens array to an exit pupil of the HMD corresponding to a location of an eye of a user of the HMD.

  • Patent number: 11106276
Abstract: A virtual reality (VR) headset adjusts the phase of light of a virtual scene received from a display element using a spatial light modulator (SLM) to accommodate changes in vergence for a user viewing objects in the virtual scene. The VR headset receives virtual scene data that includes depth information for components of the virtual scene and the SLM adjusts a wavefront of the light of the virtual scene by generating a phase function that adjusts the light of the virtual scene with phase delays based the depth values. Individual phase delays shift components of the virtual scene based on the depth values to a target focal plane to accommodate a user at a vergence depth for a frame of the virtual scene. Further, the SLM can provide optical defocus by shifting components of the virtual scene with the phase delays for depth of field blur.
