  • Publication number: 20190294755
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media are disclosed for automatically generating an improved aircraft wing by modifying quantitative design variables of one or more airfoils based on joint analysis of aerodynamic and structural performance. In particular, the disclosed systems determine cross-sectional aerodynamic and structural performance metrics for identified airfoils. Based on cross-sectional metrics, the disclosed systems iteratively determine wing aerodynamic performance and deformation metrics across a span of the wing until arriving at an equilibrium deformation and corresponding aerodynamic metric. The disclosed systems can repeatedly analyze the aero-structural metrics for different quantitative design variables to explore a design space and generate an improved wing design while improving aerodynamic and structural performance.

  • Patent number: 10423943
Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for generating a set of recommended media works based on an identified seed media work. The seed media work is used to identify a set of co-occurring media works, which are defined as media works that have been intentionally interacted with within a predetermined time window as the seed media work by a single user. After the co-occurrence set is created, it is ranked and filtered. Media works identified in the co-occurrence set may then be selected based on their ranking.

  • Publication number: 20190272587
Abstract: A sales person at a retail store which traditionally does not sell paint assists a consumer in selecting and purchasing a non-paint product and thereafter employs a computer terminal and display in conjunction with a website operated by a paint manufacturer to provide a paint color recommendation to the consumer. The sales person may thereafter respond to consumer selection of a particular paint color by employing an on-line electronic ordering tool to transmit a paint order to an order processing terminal located at a paint manufacturer facility. Thereafter, the paint manufacturer may proceed to process the order, perform tinting and shaking steps to formulate paint of the particular color, package the tinted paint, and cause the packaged paint to be shipped to the consumer.

  • Publication number: 20190221185
Abstract: Variable pixel rate video output and display techniques for computing systems and user devices are presented herein. In one example, a method of providing video data for display on a display device includes determining logical pixels with variable sizing that each represent one or more source pixels comprising at least a portion of a video frame. The method also includes producing metadata describing the variable sizing for the logical pixels, and transferring the metadata with data representing the logical pixels over a display interface for display of at least the portion of the video frame on the display device that maps the logical pixels across target pixels of the display device.

  • Publication number: 20190179997
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media are disclosed for automatically generating aircraft models by modifying quantitative design variables based on joint analysis of aerodynamic, structural, and/or energy performance. For example, in one or more embodiments, disclosed systems iteratively modify ailerons and a propulsion system based on performance criteria until a balancing metric converges. The disclosed systems then determine performance metrics corresponding to the aircraft model with the modified ailerons and propulsion system, such as stresses and deflections under performance load, a measure of aeroelastic stability, and a battery performance metric. The disclosed systems can then modify design variables based on the determined performance metrics to explore the design space and generate a new aircraft model.

  • Patent number: 10303437
Abstract: A thread executed by a server to service events received into a deferred event buffer through connections to client sockets on client terminals, acquires a buffer lock responsive to the buffer lock not being acquired by another thread, and increments a buffer iteration counter. The thread identifies buffer entry N as a next candidate entry, and determines if two preconditions are satisfied: 1) a connection lock of a connection X context structure associated with the buffer entry N is not acquired by another thread; and 2) a connection iteration counter of the connection X context is less than the buffer iteration counter. Responsive to both preconditions being satisfied, the thread acquires a connection lock of the connection X context structure, removes the buffer entry N, and releases the buffer lock. The connection lock is released responsive to completing execution of a callback function performing the buffer entry N.
