  • Patent number: 7444209
Abstract: A method for regulating temperature in an enclosure is disclosed. The method involves monitoring a component temperature inside the enclosure. When the component temperature reaches a threshold, the method injects a coolant into the enclosure. The method further involves regulating a flow rate of the coolant by actuating a miniature piezoelectric element to reduce the component temperature to a prescribed level.

  • Publication number: 20080234489
Abstract: The invention provides a method for preparing the sodium salt of the novel thiol derivative of vitamin B12, N-acetyl-L-cysteinylcobalamin (Na[NACCbl]). The method involves carrying out the reaction in aqueous solvent with a relatively small excess of ligand reactant, specifically from one to less than four molar equivalents. The cobalamin derivative formed is precipitated from the aqueous solvent, preferably by the addition of a precipitate inducing solvent. This provides a product in acceptable purity without the need for an additional chromatographic purification step.

  • Publication number: 20080184486
Abstract: Body orienting harnesses and associated structures are disclosed, along with methods of use. The body orienting harness can position a body, such an infant, with respect to the associated structure, such as a bed, bed frame or crib, a sheet, or a blanket for example. The harness may be integrated with a sheet or blanket in order to secure not only a body in position but also secure the sheet or blanket in position with respect to the body. The sheet, blanket, or other cover, can provide a slip cover for an underlying support surface, such as a mattress for example. Alternatively, the cover can be secured in other ways to form a pocket in association with other structure, such as a bed sheet for example. The harness can be mounted in association with the pocket to secure a body in position with the respect to the pocket and associated structure, such as a mattress, crib, etc.

  • Publication number: 20050233073
Abstract: A process for applying a coating (M) of a material onto a web (W) includes the step of providing a source (6) of the material to be coated in the fluid state. The source includes one or more output nozzles (11) for emitting the coating material in the fluid state in a first direction (X1). A drive unit produces a relative movement of the output nozzle (11) with respect to the web (W), such a movement taking place in a second direction (X2). The first (X1) and second (X2) directions form an angle (?) therebetween of less than 45°, and preferably about 5°. The web is preferably kept flat and extending in the second direction (X2) at the region where the coating material (M) is applied onto the web (W) and the output nozzle (11) is positioned with respect to the web (W) in such a way that, in travelling from the nozzle (11) to the surface of the web W being coated, the coating material (M) follows a free path over a given distance (d).

  • Publication number: 20040190537
Abstract: A method of synchronising the filling of a queue, present at an interface between a packet network and a synchronous data link for storing packet identifiers identifying packets received from the packet network, to an incoming packet flow, the method comprising receiving a packet at said interface, identifying the sequence number of said packet, setting a read pointer, pointing to the next packet identifier to be read from the queue, to a value which is a predefined amount less than the identified sequence number. The method also provides a means for extending and reducing the average size of the queue in order to maintain the average size at an optimum level.
