  • Publication number: 20100055711
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the identification of a PI3K interacting compound, comprising the steps of a) providing a protein preparation containing PI3K, b) contacting the protein preparation with phenylthiazole ligand 1 immobilized on a solid support under conditions allowing the formation of a phenylthiazole ligand 1-PI3K complex, c) incubating the phenylthiazole ligand 1-PI3K complex with a given compound, and d) determining whether the compound is able to separate PI3K from the immobilized phenylthiazole ligand 1. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for the identification of a PI3K interacting compound, comprising the steps of a) providing a protein preparation containing PI3K, b) contacting the protein preparation with phenylthiazole ligand 1 immobilized on a solid support and with a given compound under conditions allowing the formation of a phenylthiazole ligand 1-PI3K complex, and c) detecting the phenylthiazole ligand 1-PI3K complex formed in step b).

  • Patent number: 5803719
Abstract: A turbocharged diesel engine is described. The engine has a two stage turbocharger assembly including low pressure turbochargers coupled and parallel and arranged in series with a single high pressure turbocharger. This allows all turbochargers to be of comparable dimensions for interchangeability of parts. The turbochargers may be mounted on an enclosure which encloses the turbines and the exhaust gas duct work which communicates with the exhaust pipe to insure that any leaking exhaust gas escapes to the atmosphere via the exhaust pipe. A cartridge is also described which contains the moving parts which can be removed without disturbing the turbine housing.

  • Patent number: 5692378
Abstract: A turbocharger assembly includes a housing containing a first turbocharger and second and third turbochargers disposed on opposite sides of the first turbocharger. The exhaust gas outlet of the turbine of the first turbocharger is connected to the inlets of the turbines of the second and third turbochargers in parallel. All turbochargers are substantially identical in size. A plurality of assemblies my be employed to turbocharge a diesel engine, the respective second compressors being connected in parallel and the respective third compressors being connected in parallel. The housing may be gas-light.
