The UE determines to use a wake-up receiver (WUR) as the primary receiver for monitoring PEO when waking up in Discontinuous Reception (DRX). The WUR consumes less power than a main receiver of the UE. The UE detects, at the WUR, a PEI and activates the main receiver of the UE for monitoring a paging occasion (PO).
