  • Publication number: 20200067647
Abstract: A method for retransmission of uplink transmissions, performed by a wireless device with configured uplink grants. The method comprises transmitting a first transmission to a network node with a redundancy version (RV). The wireless device then determines to retransmit the first transmission, and retransmits the first transmission with a retransmission RV based on the type of retransmission. For a non-adaptive retransmission, the retransmission RV value is the same as the RV of the first retransmission. For an adaptive retransmission, the retransmission RV is the RV value received in a retransmission grant.

  • Publication number: 20200052812
Abstract: A method performed by a network node for handling a damaged transmission of data due to data puncturing is provided. The network node receives (201), from a User Equipment, (UE) a Negative Acknowledgment (NACK) feedback of a previous transmission of data transmitted to the UE. The network node checks (202) whether or not the data is punctured in the previous transmission corresponding to the NACK feedback. When the data is punctured in the previous transmission, the network node selects (203) a Redundancy Version (RV), for a retransmission of the data, according to characteristics of the punctured data and puncturing data. The network node then sends (204) a Puncturing Indication (PI), the selected RV and the retransmission of the data to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20200052810
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus for detecting when a data transmission has been preempted or punctured by detecting inconsistency in the modulation or other signal characteristic of a received signal. If an inconsistency is detected, measures can be taken to mitigate potential problems caused by the inconsistent data. In one example, the receiving device (30) may identify soft bits in a soft buffer that may have been corrupted and flush the corrupted parts from the soft buffer.

  • Patent number: 10498405
Abstract: Systems and methods for codebook restriction for closed-loop codebook-based precoding in a Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) wireless communications system based on antenna correlation are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless device to provide feedback for a closed-loop codebook-based precoding system is provided. The method comprises determining a codebook restriction based on an antenna correlation for a MIMO channel between a network node and the wireless device. The antenna correlation is transmit antenna correlation, receive antenna correlation, or both transmit and receive antenna correlation. The codebook restriction is a restriction that reduces a full codebook of the wireless device to a reduced codebook. The method of operation of the wireless device further comprises generating a feedback report using the reduced codebook and transmitting the feedback report to the network node.

  • Publication number: 20190363847
Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for transmitting payload in a subframe. A method is performed by a first network device. The method comprises obtaining a transport block size (TBS) value by accessing an array storing a plurality of TBS values. The TBS value is proportional to number of user data symbols in a subframe of a given subframe length. One and the same array is accessed regardless of the given subframe length. The method comprises transmitting a physical channel carrying payload in the subframe to a second network device. The amount of data in the payload is determined by the TBS value.

  • Publication number: 20190349126
Abstract: A receiver blindly determines which parts of the soft buffer to flush by comparing the reception of a first transmission to the reception of a second transmission (i.e., a re-transmission of the first transmission). Any large differences between the first and second transmissions are identified as puncturing events. After identifying the location of the puncturing events, the receiver then evaluates different hypotheses about which one of the transmissions was punctured in the different events. For each of the hypotheses the receiver attempts to decode the received data and the receiver stops processing once decoding is successful or after the receiver has processed all of the hypotheses.

The at least two sets of SFs comprising a first set of SFs for legacy TDD transmissions and a second set of SFs for sTTI TDD transmissions. The method further comprises performing one or more telecommunications functions according to the at least two sets of SFs. In this manner, TDD sTTI transmissions can be performed without substantially affecting legacy TDD operations.
