Patent number: 12203832Abstract: A microfluidic viscometer measures the viscosity of a microliter-volume fluid sample using a microfluidic chip having a microchannel with a high aspect ratio (˜10), allowing the microflow therein to be approximated as a rectangular slit flow. The microfluidic chip is fabricated by stacking rigid sheet materials that can be laser cut to specified shapes and sizes. The microchannel, rendered smooth and hydrophobic by a repellant coating, provides a straight flow path for the sample to approach flow equilibrium as it moves through. By applying corrections related to the visual bias from the camera and the capillary pressure difference at the air-liquid interface, the viscosity of the fluid sample can be calculated based on differential pressure data, sample length, velocity, volumetric flow rate, and contact angle from captured video, and the channel dimension, given that the sample has reached a flow equilibrium condition.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Inventors: Wasim Kapadia, Ning Qin, Pei Zhao, Chau-minh Phan, Lacey A. Haines, Lyndon William James Jones, Carolyn Liqing Ren

Publication number: 20250014778Abstract: A flexible flat coaxial ribbon cable, equipped with a plurality of coaxial cables arranged side by side to reduce the degree of interference and loss during transmitting RF signals or high-speed signals through the coaxial cables, thereby effectively increasing the transmission distance for RF signals or high-speed signals. Additionally, the coaxial cables used in the flexible flat coaxial ribbon cable of this application omits an outer insulation layer, allowing the thickness of the flexible flat coaxial ribbon cable to be effectively reduced for use in spaces with height constraints.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2024Publication date: January 9, 2025Inventors: CHING-CHUAN KUNG, Xiang-Yu Chen, YI-JU LU, Ning Qin

Patent number: 11071371Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a body-worn unitary harness having a shoulder portion and a waist portion in tensile communication with one another, such that both the shoulder and the waist portions can be simultaneously adjusted using a single adjustment mechanism to conform to a wearer's body. In an illustrative embodiment, a length of webbing may thread through an angle-turning buckle and change direction therein. Tensile forces in the length of webbing may be directed in different directions on either side of the angle-turning buckle. A single clasp may facilitate both donning and doffing of the unitary harness. An implement connector may be coupled to a hip member and configured to connect an implement to the unitary harness. Various exemplary unitary harnesses may provide comfortable implement carrying capacity while automatically adjusting relative waist and shoulder lengths to accommodate a user's movements and positions.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2018Date of Patent: July 27, 2021Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Jacky Zhu, Zhao Xia Jin, Jimmy Zheng, Bruce Liu, Ning Qin
