Patent number: 8937865Abstract: In general, techniques are described for scheduling traffic for delivery over an aggregated bundle of links. A network device comprising an interface and a data plane may implement the techniques. The interface receives packets associated with packet flows. The data plane associates each of the packet flows with a different link of an aggregated bundle of links. The data plane monitors transmission of the packets via the links to determine a representation of an amount of data sent per link. The data plane further determines that bandwidth utilization does not conform to a desired bandwidth utilization based on the determined representation of the amount of data sent per link. The data plane then re-associates the packet flows to different links of the aggregated bundle based on the determination that the bandwidth utilization does not conform to the desired bandwidth utilization.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2012Date of Patent: January 20, 2015Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nitin Kumar, Alex Baban, Surya Nimmagadda, Alok Khambatkone, Saravanan Masilamani, Anand S. Patent number: 8917729Abstract: Techniques are described for maintaining a forwarding information base (FIB) within a packet-forwarding engine (PFE) of a router, and programming a packet-forwarding integrated circuit (IC) with a hardware version of the FIB. Entries of the hardware version identify primary forwarding next hops and backup forwarding next hops for the LSPs, wherein the packet-forwarding IC includes a control logic module and internal selector block configured to produce a value indicating a state of the first physical link. The selector block outputs one of the primary forwarding next hop and the backup forwarding next hop of the entries for forwarding the MPLS packets based on the value in response to the packet-processing engine addressing one of the entries of the FIB for the LSPs. Packets are forwarded with the PFE to the one of the primary forwarding next hop and the backup forwarding next hop output by the selector block.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2011Date of Patent: December 23, 2014Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nitin Kumar, Alex Baban

Patent number: 8889479Abstract: Nonvolatile memory elements are provided that have resistive switching metal oxides. The nonvolatile memory elements may be formed by depositing a metal-containing material on a silicon-containing material. The metal-containing material may be oxidized to form a resistive-switching metal oxide. The silicon in the silicon-containing material reacts with the metal in the metal-containing material when heat is applied. This forms a metal silicide lower electrode for the nonvolatile memory element. An upper electrode may be deposited on top of the metal oxide. Because the silicon in the silicon-containing layer reacts with some of the metal in the metal-containing layer, the resistive-switching metal oxide that is formed is metal deficient when compared to a stoichiometric metal oxide formed from the same metal.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2012Date of Patent: November 18, 2014Assignee: Intermolecular, Inc.Inventors: Nitin Kumar, Tony P. Patent number: 8890594Abstract: A system for synchronizing a functional reset between first and second clock domains that operate on first and second clock signals, respectively. The system includes first, second and third synchronizer flip-flops that operate on the second clock signal. The first synchronizer flip-flop receives a functional reset signal generated by the first clock domain at its reset terminal and generates a low output signal. The low output signal causes the second synchronizer flip-flop and subsequently the third synchronizer flip-flop to generate low output signals at positive edges of the second clock signal. The low output signal generated by the third synchronizer flip-flop is used to reset the second clock domain.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2013Date of Patent: November 18, 2014Assignee: Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.Inventors: Surendra Kumar Tadi, Nitin Kumar Jaiswal

Publication number: 20140295518Abstract: The present invention is related to a process for generation of hydrogen and syngas based on biomimetic carbonation and photocatalysis. A path breaking way has been developed for generation of solar fuels in specific hydrogen by coupling biomimetic carbonation with photocatalysis. Efforts are being made worldwide to mimic the reaction for fixation of anthropogenic CO2 into calcium carbonate using carbonic anhydrase (CA) as a biocatalyst. CA is being employed to accelerate the rate of hydration of CO2 to form carbonate ions and proton. Presently carbonate is being precipitated from aqueous solution as calcium carbonate given a suitable saturation of calcium and carbonate ions by addition of appropriate buffer. A major breakthrough in the area of generation of solar fuels like hydrogen has been achieved by coupling biomimetic carbonation with photocatalysis. This approach may prove to be a revolutionary technical advancement required for hydrogen economy demanding carbon neutral hydrogen production.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2012Publication date: October 2, 2014Applicant: COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC & INDUSTRIAL RESEARCHInventors: Sadhana Suresh Rayalu, Tapan Chakrabarti, Meenal Vivek Joshi, Priti Ashok Mangrulkar, Nitin Kumar Labhsetwar, Renu Mahendra Singh Yadav, Chandan Prabhu, Satish Ramchandra Wate

Patent number: 8837479Abstract: A packet-forwarding integrated circuit includes a control logic module and a selector block configured to produce a value indicating an incoming interface associated with a multicast data stream that meets stream health requirements, wherein the multicast data stream is one of a plurality of redundant multicast data streams each received on different incoming interfaces, wherein based on the value produced by the selector block the control logic module outputs data packets of the multicast data stream that meets stream health requirements received on the incoming interface, and discards data packets of other multicast data streams received on other incoming interfaces not indicated by the selector block. In response to detecting that a quality of one of the redundant multicast data streams has fallen below a configured threshold, the control logic automatically rewrites the selector block to forward a different one of the redundant multicast data streams.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2012Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nitin Kumar, Nischal Sheth, Satish Ramachandran, Robert Kebler, Maciek Konstantynowicz
