  • Patent number: 5563679
Abstract: A camera capable of operating in a red-eye prevention mode. The camera has an electronic flash device which is activated by a drive circuit in synchronization with the exposure. The electronic flash device also serve as a pre-light-emission device capable of performing pre-light-emission for the purpose of preventing red-eye effect. When it is judged from the photographing condition that red-eye effect may to occur, a controller activates the electronic flash device to effect a pre-light-emission for reducing the size of pupils of eyes of a person to be photographed before the main flashing which is executed in synchronization with the exposure.

  • Patent number: 5541707
Abstract: A camera input and display device and method generates displays on a dot matrix display device having a plurality of display blocks which display a plurality of display-screens. The display-screens correspond to either a first display or a second display. An input device inputs data in accordance with each display-screen. A control unit is coupled to the display device and the input device. The control unit sets a specified timer value for each display-screen. The control unit stops receiving data from the input device when a timer generates a time-out signal based on the specified timer value. The specified timer value is set for a longer time for the first display than for the second display.

  • Patent number: 5526085
Abstract: The invention is directed to an electrical connecter, mounted on a mounting board within a camera, to which an FPC board is connected, that does not increase the size of the camera, and is a simplified shape and structure. The main camera body is equipped with a flat portion on one portion of the outer wall that forms a film chamber comprising either a cartridge chamber or a spool chamber. A mounting board has a section that faces and is substantially parallel to the flat portion and an extension section that does not face the flat portion. A horizontal or vertical electrical connecter is attached to the extension section of the mounting board on the surface generally facing the outer wall of the film chamber and an electrical board comprising an FPC board or the like is connected to the electrical connecter. To enhance the features of the camera, a first electrical component is loaded on the surface of the mounting board opposite to the electrical connector loaded surface.

  • Patent number: 5500711
Abstract: A camera on which warnings of serious content and warnings of relatively insignificant content are organized and displayed, and on which warning contents are easily understandable, even to an inexperienced photographer. When a condition requiring a warning is detected as a result of camera monitoring, a camera controller performs a procedure that displays an appropriate warning on the display device. If the warning content concerns a condition that has been determined in advance to be serious, the warning is displayed without regard to the current display content. If the warning concerns a condition that is relatively insignificant, the warning is displayed only in conditions in which specific functions have been selected.
