  • Patent number: 6076037
Abstract: An engine control system in which a plurality of engine control data values corresponding to respective values of a predetermined engine operating parameter are previously stored in a read only memory, correction data indicative of a correction value for correcting errors of the engine control data values stored in the read only memory is stored in a rewritable memory, and one of the engine control data values corresponding to a detected value of the predetermined engine operating parameter is read out from the read only memory, while the correction data stored in the rewritable memory is read out to obtain the correction value, whereby the read engine control data value is corrected by using the correction value in order to control the engine based on the corrected engine control data value.

  • Patent number: 6060729
Abstract: A light-emitting diode chip having an anode electrode and a cathode electrode both arranged on its top surface is placed in a cavity formed in a base board that has conductors so laid as to extend from its top surface to its bottom surface. The anode and cathode electrodes are connected, by way of wires, to the conductors laid on the top surface of the base board, respectively, and then the light-emitting diode chip and the wires are sealed in a resin mold. The electrodes are situated at a level equal to or higher than the top surface of the base board so that the wires can be fixed on the electrodes without interference between the wire-bonding tool and the base board.

  • Patent number: 6025217
Abstract: Method of forming a uniform polycrystalline semiconductor thin film by laser annealing. The method is started with preparing a substrate having an insulating layer which has a relatively low thermal conductivity and a thickness of more than 20 nm. Then, an amorphous silicon thin film having a relatively high thermal conductivity is formed to a thickness of less than 35 nm on the insulating layer. Thereafter, the amorphous silicon thin film is irradiated with laser beam to impart thermal energy to the film. In this way, the amorphous film is converted into a polysilicon thin film. Since the thickness of the amorphous silicon film is less than 35 nm, polysilicons having uniform grain diameters can be grown.

  • Patent number: 5958622
Abstract: A negative electrode material capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium is comprised of a mixture of coke and graphite. The amount of graphite in the mixture is near to that which induces percolation transition. Preferably, the amount of graphite in the mixture is 2 to 37 wt % relative to the total amount of the coke and graphite. The coke may be prepared by heating raw coke from oil or coal at 500 to 900.degree. C. The coke may be 0.06 or more in the atomic ratio of hydrogen to carbon and 0.003 or more in the atomic ratio of oxygen to carbon. The graphite may be 0.5 .mu.m to 30 .mu.m in a mean particle size. Lithium secondary batteries comprising the negative electrodes have a large discharge capacity.

  • Patent number: 5431637
Abstract: A suction catheter is disclosed having a tubular, bellowed flexible proximal or patient contacting end creating a rigidity to not permit bending and twisting during the catheter's insertion and operation, a flexibility to prevent injuring a patient's trachea or bronchial tube and having a good suction efficiency. A lumen leads to openings in the catheter made at the bellowed proximal end that fluidly connects the lumen with the exterior of the catheter.

  • Patent number: 5089772
Abstract: Tests of a semiconductor IC is conducted first by bringing a plurality of conductive pattern circuits formed on an insulator sheet into contact with a plurality of bump electrodes formed on a substrate of the semiconductor, second by connecting a plurality of signal transmission pattern circuits formed on a transmission circuit substrate with each conductive pattern circuit of the insulator sheet, and then by connecting the transmission circuit substrate with a body of the testing device. A probing test can be simplified since there is no need to manually adjust positions of conventional probe needles. Further, semiconductor ICs having a lot of bump electrodes can be test without being damaged.

  • Patent number: 5029446
Abstract: Here is disclosed a compact refrigerator to cool containers filled with soft drink or the like, particularly such refrigerator miniaturized and flattened so as to be installed near by a crample seat of minicar. This compact refrigerator comprises a container supporting member formed with a plurality of wells arranged side by side in a line to receive the containers, a heat exchanging mechanism functioning under a heat absorption effect of a thermoelectric cooling element, and a casing provided with a pivotal cover and said heat exchanging mechanism, thus presenting a flattened box-like configuration.

  • Patent number: 4600076
Abstract: A device for attenuating pulsation of a fluid in a piping system comprises fluid-branching pipes extending from the piping system in which there are pulsation waves, and a plurality of orifice elements and a plurality of discs disposed in a dispersed fashion and having a small reflection factor of the pulsation wave and having a total friction factor greater than that of the entire piping system, thereby providing the effect of attenuating the pulsation of the fluid within the system without increasing the resistance of the piping system without increasing power consumption.
