  • Patent number: 5565917
Abstract: Each time an area of a distance measurement frame is changed at a position near the center of the lens focused position of a lens unit between the infinite range and the shortest range, a value of a high frequency component which is independent on a contrast is calculated by a system control circuit by a high frequency component in the distance measurement frame which is obtained from a high-pass filter and a luminance component which is obtained from an integrator. The calculated value is compared with a reference value by the system control circuit. When the calculated value is equal to or smaller than the reference value as a result of the comparison, the distance measurement frame is enlarged at a predetermined ratio by the system control circuit.

  • Patent number: 4649286
Abstract: A power supply circuit for a vehicle for providing power to motorized accessories, such as power windows and sun roofs, even after the vehicle ignition has been switched off. The power supply circuit includes a relay having relay contacts for delivering power to the accessory drive motor, and a relay coil which is energized upon switching on of the vehicle ignition. The relay is self-holding and continues to be energized even after the ignition has been switched off. However, when a door of the vehicle is opened, as detected by the closing of a door switch, the relay coil is de-energized and power to the accessory drive motor is terminated. In an alternative embodiment, power to the accessory drive motor is not terminated until after sequential opening and closing of a vehicle door.

  • Patent number: 4368393
Abstract: A rotational direction sensor for a body such as a steering shaft of an automobile, which is rotatable from a preferred neutral position in either the clockwise or the anticlockwise rotational direction. When an actuating assembly is rotated in the clockwise rotational direction by more than a predetermined amount from the neutral position, a first switch is actuated so as to conduct a first electric current, while a second switch is not actuated, and when the actuating assembly is then returned to the neutral position in the anticlockwise rotational direction, the second switch is actuated to conduct a second electric current. An opposite switch actuation sequence occurs for initial anticlockwise and then clockwise rotation of the actuating assembly. A control circuit generates a first electric signal when it receives the first and then the second electric current as a pair and a second electric signal when it receives the second and then the first electric current as a pair.
