  • Patent number: 6071210
Abstract: The ball spline for use in a troidal-type continuously variable transmission comprises a plurality of spline grooves and a plurality of balls which are arranged in series within spline gaps each constituted by a set of mutually opposing spline grooves, in which, while allowing the movement of the input disc in the direction of an input shaft by means of contact between the spline gaps and balls, the input shaft and input disc can be drivingly connected to each other. In the ball spline, the number of spline gaps is set different from integral multiples of the number of power rollers which are held by and between the input and output discs in contact with the two discs in order to transmit a rotation torque between the input and output discs.

  • Patent number: 5807203
Abstract: In order to improve the transmission efficiency of a toroidal type continuously variable transmission by reducing the dynamic torque loss of an antifriction bearing, a first output gear is constituted by a pair of helical gears of which the directions of inclinations are opposite to each other, and a second output gear is constituted by a double helical gear. By this construction, a thrust force created in the meshing portion between the first and second output gears is offset and the dynamic torque loss of the antifriction bearing is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5238026
Abstract: A liquid outflow control unit used in an instrument for injecting a liquid such as a liquid medicine into a human body. It includes a plurality of separate partial members, at least one of which has a groove on a joined face thereof to form a small path through which a liquid passes. A liquid enters one end of the groove and goes out of an exit which fluid communicates with the other end of the groove. The liquid flowing out of the exit is injected into the human body via a connection tube and a needle.

  • Patent number: 4820772
Abstract: A polyolefin composition having a superior resistance to impact-whitening, luster, impact resistance, mechanical strength and stiffness, particularly, mechanical strength and stiffness is provided, which composition is obtained by (1) blending (B) a high density ethylene polymer, (C) a non-crystalline ethylene-propylene random copolymer or a non-crystalline ethylene-propylene-non-conjugated diene random copolymer and a phosphate compound expressed by the following formula (I) (hereinafter referred to as compound (a)): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represent sulfur or an alkylidene group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represent a hydrogen atom or the same or different alkyl groups of 1 to 8 carbon atoms; M represents a monovalent, divalent or trivalent metal atom; m represents 0 or 1; and n represents an integer of 1 to 3, with (A) a crystalline .alpha.

  • Patent number: 4119854
Abstract: A reference mark, common to both an electron beam and a workpiece, is arranged above and away from, but in the vicinity of, the workpiece exposure area. The position of the workpiece with respect to the reference mark is ascertained by an optical measuring means such as a Michelson type laser interferometer and the position of the electron beam with respect to the reference mark is ascertained by scanning the electron beam over said reference mark. The relative positions of the electron beam and the exposed workpiece is obtained by comparing the respective positions of the electron beam and workpiece with the reference mark. By so doing, the error between specified and actual positions of the points of impingement of the electron beam on the surface of the workpiece may be corrected.

  • Patent number: 4107249
Abstract: An annular groove is formed in the periphery of thermoplastic pipe near an end thereof by combining the forces of a fluid under pressure and a rigid expandable core mold. A pipe is heated, softened and placed over a core mold having an extensible portion. The extensible portion is in the retracted state initially and presents no obstacle to the placement of the pipe on the core mold. A space is provided internally of the pipe and is sealed by parts of the core mold whereby the application of a fluid pressure pushes outwardly on the inner periphery of the pipe. At the same time or subsequently the extensible portion of the core mold is extended to provide additional pressure to and to shape the latter internal periphery of the pipe.
