  • Patent number: 6431671
Abstract: An ink jet recording method and apparatus for changing a mixture proportion of a plurality of types of ink based on an image signal to produce an ink fluid having a predetermine density and/or color, and jetting this fluid to an image receiving medium to form an image. A plurality of types of ink, at least one of which is an image non-forming ink for substantially forming no image after drying out, are mixed before a plurality of ink ejection ports to produce the ink liquid while changing a mixture proportion of the inks based on an image signal. The obtained ink liquid is ejected by an ink droplet ejecting means disposed in the respective ink ejection ports and a constant amount of ink droplets are jetted to the image receiving medium. At least two of the ink droplet ejecting means are simultaneously driven by a common ejection driver. Accordingly, the number of ejection drivers can be reduced, and an apparatus constitution can be simplified.

  • Patent number: 6412902
Abstract: An ink jet printer includes an ink jet printing head, having plural recording elements arranged in a main scan direction. Feeder roller sets move continuous recording sheet relative to the printing head in a sub scan direction, to print an image to the continuous recording sheet. A printing head inspecting device for the printer is provided. A controller causes the feeder roller set to set first and second line positions of the continuous recording sheet sequentially at the printing head. While one of the first and second line positions is set at the printing head, the controller simultaneously drives recording elements in one of first and second groups into which the recording elements are grouped in the printing head, to print one check dot train to the continuous recording sheet. Thus, two check dot trains are printed in the first and second line positions. Each of the first and second groups includes plural recording elements intermittently arranged in the printing head.

  • Publication number: 20020022341
Abstract: An object of the present invention is forming a concave portion (including a penetration hole) in a semiconductor substrate by a sandblast method without causing electrostatic breakdown. In order to achieve the object, in a wafer in which at least two chips are formed, metal films are formed at least in the vicinity of circumferential portions of regions in which the concave portions (including penetration holes) of the respective chips are to be formed. In addition, the metal films are extended from the vicinity of the circumferential portions to ends of the respective corresponding chips. Further, the metal films are connected with each other through regions between the chips. The entire surface of the wafer including the metal films is masked, except for the regions in which the concave portions of the respective chips are to be formed. At least a portion of the metal films is grounded and then the concave portions are formed in the respective chips formed on the wafer by the sandblast method.

  • Publication number: 20020008731
Abstract: An objet of the present invention is to provide a recording head which is constructed as a line head by arranging a plurality of head components along the direction of arrangement of recording elements and in which an amount of a gap of the recording elements at each of the joints between each pair of the head components located adjacent to each other along the direction of arrangement of the recording elements is detected to achieve recording of a high-quality image free from a stripe shape nonuniformity, a blank defect, a color nonuniformity, and the like. To achieve this object, the recording head has a head portion for recording an image on a recording medium, and a sensor portion for reading the image recorded on the recording medium by the head portion. In the head portion, a plurality of head components each formed by arranging recording elements for recording an image on the recording medium are arranged along the direction of arrangement of the recording elements.

  • Publication number: 20020001006
Abstract: An ink jet printer forms an image frame in a continuous recording sheet at a size PL with reference to a feeding direction. The continuous recording sheet includes plural recording sheets, and a splicing portion for splicing the plural recording sheets to one another in one line. In ink jet printing, the image frame is printed to the continuous recording sheet with a printing bead while the continuous recording sheet is fed in the feeding direction. It is detected whether the splicing portion comes past a predetermined position upstream from the printing head at a distance L1. The printing head is inhibited from printing the image frame if an unavailable region including the splicing portion is estimated to overlap on a region of the image frame according to a detection signal from the detecting step.

  • Patent number: 6299286
Abstract: A recording liquid which is obtained by changing a proportion of mixture of image forming liquid and clear liquid based on an image signal is transported as a continuous flow to an image receiving medium to form an image. An undercoating liquid is superimposed on the recording liquid at the position where the recording liquid meets the image receiving medium to form a bead so that the recording liquid is loaded on the undercoating liquid. The stream line of the undercoating liquid is bent toward the upstream side in the bead and then turned back toward the downstream side to be straightened. Accordingly, the recording liquid superimposed on the straightened undercoating liquid becomes a stable straightened flow without a sinuosity. The generation of a sinuosity of a stream line of the recording liquid is prevented to improve the image quality. Preferably, a supply amount of the undercoating liquid is set constant.

  • Patent number: 6287022
Abstract: An indicated state changing pin which abuts indicating pieces of a cartridge, which indicate the state of a photographic film accommodated within the cartridge, and bends the indicating pieces, wherein a proximal end portion of the indicated state changing pin is formed larger than a distal end portion of the indicated state changing pin. Therefore, since the indicating pieces are bent while abutting the indicated state changing pin, even if the moving speed of the indicated state changing pin is constant, the indicating pieces are bent slower than the case of using a linearly-formed straight pin. As a result, separation of the indicating pieces from the cartridge is prevented, and the indicating pieces are reliably bent to the necessary depth.
