  • Patent number: 11383541
Abstract: A printing system includes a printing apparatus providing, in a case a first type of printing material is loaded to a print unit without loading a second type of printing material, a host device with a first printing service using a first identifier to identify the printing apparatus, and in a case where at least the second type of printing material is loaded to the print unit, to provide the host device with a second printing service using a different second identifier. The host device obtains printability information when an identifier provided from the printing apparatus is an unknown identifier, the printability information being information indicating a printable condition with the printing apparatus, sets the printable condition with the printing apparatus based on the obtained printability information, and transmits a printing job based on the set condition to the printing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7929172
Abstract: In this invention, to enable printing of an image that has undergone an image process or print process complying with the desire of a user on an image supply device side, real object handles and virtual object handles are set to, of images to be supplied to the printing device, images that require a predetermined image process and remaining images, respectively. A print job including the object handle of a print target image is issued in accordance with a print instruction. If the handle of an image requested by the printing device in response to the issued print job is a virtual object handle, the predetermined image process is executed for image data corresponding to the handle, and the processed image data is supplied to the printing device.

  • Patent number: 7719707
Abstract: Improvement of printing speed is set out in an image processing apparatus, which is connected communicably with a printing apparatus, for transferring a recorded image to the printing apparatus and having the printing apparatus print the image. To achieve this object, the present invention has the following configuration. Namely, the invention provides an image processing method of an image capturing apparatus, communicably connected with a printing apparatus which prints transmitted image data. The image processing method comprises: a receiving step (step S101, S104) of receiving information regarding a printing condition of the printing apparatus for printing the transmitted image data; a processing step (step S103, S106) of processing image data to be transmitted to the printing apparatus based on the information regarding the printing condition received in the receiving step; and a transmitting step (step S108) of transmitting the image data processed in the processing step to the printing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20100030815
Abstract: A method for managing an image file in which a plurality of images each having ancillary information is sequentially included, and in which a main image among the plurality of images is indicated based on the ancillary information of the image stored at a head of the image file, includes inputting an instruction to delete an image included in the image file, and based on the input of the instruction, deleting images other than at least the main image from among the plurality of images included in the image file based on the ancillary information of the image stored at the head of the image file.

  • Patent number: 7545526
Abstract: To provide a printer command control apparatus, method and system that can prevent control commands from being sent erroneously to a printer connected to a printer command control apparatus, a printer connected to the printer command control apparatus, and a program and a storage medium. In the printer command control system, a NonPC apparatus is connected to a printer and, at the same time, connected to a web server via the Internet. A tag to be sent from the NonPC apparatus to the printer is constituted by a printer maintenance command header, which consists of a header ID and a manufacturer ID including information indicating to which manufacturer a command is adapted, and a printer maintenance command. When manufacturer information of the manufacturer ID and manufacturer information of the printer do not coincide with each other, the printer maintenance command is controlled not to be sent to the printer.

  • Patent number: 7538897
Abstract: A print control device including an acquisition unit for acquiring print conditions in response to a print request, a fixing unit for fixing a frequency of determining a print cancel based on the print conditions acquired by the acquisition unit, and a determining unit for determining whether a print cancel command is issued as the data processing unit generates and/or transfers print data at the frequency fixed by the fixing unit. The print control device thus determines the presence or absence of a print cancel command at an appropriate frequency under an environment that permits no multitasking. A response process from the reception of the print cancel command to the execution of a cancel operation becomes uniform, resulting in unnecessary waiting time and useless printing actions.

  • Patent number: 7474430
Abstract: A printer and a digital camera are connected so as to be capable of communicating with each other. The printer transmits information indicative of its capabilities to the digital camera and the digital camera incorporates the transmitted printer capability information in a print settings menu. The capability information has information relating to the printer capabilities and information indicative of a default setting. The capabilities of the printer are incorporated in the print settings menu together with the default setting. A desired printing condition can be set selectively at the digital camera using the print settings menu in which the capability information has been incorporated.

  • Publication number: 20080024824
Abstract: Changes in grayscale data of groups of pixels in edge portions of the original image are detected. According to the changes detected, new grayscale data is generated for the edge surrounding portions that adjoin the edge portions from outside. With this processing, a marginless printed matter which maintains continuity can be obtained without the original data being enlarged or lost. The direction of a trimmed image with respect to the printing direction is set in a way that allows as much of the original image as possible to be allocated to the images of the edge surrounding portions required to be arranged around the trimmed image for the marginless printing. With this arrangement, if errors should occur in the print position, it is possible to realize a “marginless printing” which, in areas between the trimmed area and the edge surrounding portions, gives a viewer no unnatural feel.

  • Patent number: 7158243
Abstract: A printing apparatus can quickly cancel a print job without any influence on the other subsequent print jobs when a print cancel instruction is issued. During printing, if a print cancel instruction is inputted from a printer operation unit, a printer function manager notifies a print command interpreter of the cancellation. The print command interpreter searches data processed at that time in a transmission/reception buffer for an end mark command indicating the end of the cancelled job. Then the print command interpreter deletes the data before the end mark command.
