  • Publication number: 20060039021
Abstract: According to a print system, a printer supplies function information of the printer to a DSC based on a communication link between the DSC and the printer, and the DSC establishes a UI based on the supplied function information to display it on the DSC. The DSC converts image data of an image file according to print conditions set up based on the UI and the function information of the printer and transmits the converted image file to the printer.

  • Publication number: 20050219555
Abstract: Improvement of printing speed is set out in an image processing apparatus, which is connected communicably with a printing apparatus, for transferring a recorded image to the printing apparatus and having the printing apparatus print the image. To achieve this object, the present invention has the following configuration. Namely, the invention provides an image processing method of an image capturing apparatus, communicably connected with a printing apparatus which prints transmitted image data. The image processing method comprises: a receiving step (step S101, S104) of receiving information regarding a printing condition of the printing apparatus for printing the transmitted image data; a processing step (step S103, S106) of processing image data to be transmitted to the printing apparatus based on the information regarding the printing condition received in the receiving step; and a transmitting step (step S108) of transmitting the image data processed in the processing step to the printing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050012954
Abstract: A printer and a digital camera are connected so as to be capable of communicating with each other. The printer transmits information indicative of its capabilities to the digital camera and the digital camera incorporates the transmitted printer capability information in a print settings menu. The capability information has information relating to the printer capabilities and information indicative of a default setting. The capabilities of the printer are incorporated in the print settings menu together with the default setting. A desired printing condition can be set selectively at the digital camera using the print settings menu in which the capability information has been incorporated.

  • Publication number: 20040120000
Abstract: A print control device including an acquisition unit for acquiring print conditions in response to a print request, a fixing unit for fixing a frequency of determining a print cancel based on the print conditions acquired by the acquisition unit, and a determining unit for determining whether a print cancel command is issued as the data processing unit generates and/or transfers print data at the frequency fixed by the fixing unit. The print control device thus determines the presence or absence of a print cancel command at an appropriate frequency under an environment that permits no multitasking. A response process from the reception of the print cancel command to the execution of a cancel operation becomes uniform, resulting in unnecessary waiting time and useless printing actions.

  • Publication number: 20030137687
Abstract: To provide a printer command control apparatus, method and system that can prevent control commands from being sent erroneously to a printer connected to a printer command control apparatus, a printer connected to the printer command control apparatus, and a program and a storage medium. In the printer command control system, a NonPC apparatus is connected to a printer and, at the same time, connected to a web server via the Internet. A tag to be sent from the NonPC apparatus to the printer is constituted by a printer maintenance command header, which consists of a header ID and a manufacturer ID including information indicating to which manufacturer a command is adapted, and a printer maintenance command. When manufacturer information of the manufacturer ID and manufacturer information of the printer do not coincide with each other, the printer maintenance command is controlled not to be sent to the printer.

  • Patent number: 6570669
Abstract: Even under an environment where a reset signal cannot be issued, a print stop can be realized from a host computer for print data during the printing in a printer. When a data transmission controller (5) parses the print data and generates transmission data, if a print stop command is detected, optimum complementary data is generated in accordance with delimiter information of the transmission data and the complementary data is transmitted to a printer (8) through a data transmission processor (6) subsequently to the transmission data.

  • Publication number: 20020021453
Abstract: A printing apparatus which quickly cancels a print job without any influence on the subsequent other print jobs when a print cancel instruction is issued. During printing, if a print cancel instruction is inputted from a printer operation unit 107, a printer function manager 109 notifies a print command interpreter 108 of the cancellation. The print command interpreter 108 searches data processed at that time in a transmission/reception buffer for an end mark command indicating the end of the cancelled job. Then the print command interpreter 108 deletes the data before the end mark command.
