  • Publication number: 20010044258
Abstract: A method for lapping which eliminates lapping damage includes a high-speed lapping operation at a high torque which is continuously performed after performing intermittently a low-speed lapping operation under low torque on a workpiece. Therefore, the excessive load during a first lapping stage due to the projection on the surface of the workpiece is greatly decreased. A continuous lapping is performed after the projection becomes smooth to some extent, and thus the lapping damage is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6022438
Abstract: A method for producing a steering wheel to which a liquid pressure transfer print is applied. In this method, by adjusting a transfer angle formed when the steering wheel is pressed onto a transfer film and selecting a part in a rim section at which the wheel begins to be brought into contact with the transfer film, a joint line of a transfer pattern is made invisible from the driver-side, and pattern-missing and pattern-distortion can be eliminated or decreased, resulting in a fine and precise liquid pressure transfer print being applied to the steering wheel. This method is characterized by that a front-face of the steering wheel is faced to the transfer film floated and advanced on a liquid-surface, the transfer angle is determined to be e.g., 30 to 45.degree., and first contact of the steering wheel with the transfer film occurs at a larger rim arc which is apart from portions where spokes are connected to the rim section, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5986687
Abstract: The optical intensity of laser light from a laser diode of a laser scanning apparatus having a polygonal mirror is detected with a monitoring photodiode. The detected output is delivered to a first switching end of a selector. The optical intensity of laser light reflected from the polygonal mirror is detected with a photosensor and the detection output is delivered to a second switching end of the selector. The selector selects either one of the switching ends in accordance with the timing of a laser scan. The associated detection signal is fed to a comparator, where it is compared with a reference voltage to produce a comparison voltage, which in turn is fed to a laser drive circuit to control the emission output of the laser diode. Despite variation in the reflectance of laser light from each reflecting surface of the polygonal mirror, a constant optical intensity is obtained on the basis of the reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 5877885
Abstract: A scanning apparatus. The scanning apparatus has a cascade scanning optical system in which a scanning line, made by a scanning laser beam emitted by a first laser scanning optical system of a plurality of laser scanning optical systems, and a second scanning line emitted by a second laser scanning optical system of the plurality of laser scanning optical systems, are prevented from deviating from each other in either a main scanning direction or a sub-scanning direction.
