  • Patent number: 6798893
Abstract: A watermarking system allowing both sufficiently high quality of watermarked moving pictures and enhanced ease of watermark detection is disclosed. A watermark level of a watermark to be embedded into a picture of data is changed depending on the picture type of a selected block of frequency component data, and then a watermark having the watermark level is inserted into the selected block of frequency component data. Therefore, a moving-picture can be effectively embedded with a digital watermark without substantially reducing the quality of image and the digital watermark can be detected reliably. A relative proportion of watermark levels of I-picture, B-picture, and P-picture is preferably set to 10:7:5.

  • Publication number: 20030218378
Abstract: In a vehicle dynamics control (VDC) system for a four-wheel-drive vehicle employing a brake control system regulating braking forces applied to road wheels independently of each other and a differential mechanism controlling a differential motion between front and rear wheel axles, a VDC controller controls a braking force of each road wheel depending on whether the vehicle is in oversteering or understeering. The VDC controller includes a braking-force compensation section that compensates for a braking force of at least one of a first wheel, which is subjected to vehicle dynamics control, and a second wheel to which a transferred braking force is transferred from the first wheel through the differential mechanism, to reduce a braking force of the second wheel and to prevent the braking force of the second wheel from exceeding a lateral grip limit of the second wheel during the vehicle dynamics control.

  • Patent number: 6564256
Abstract: In order to effect data transfer at a high efficiency in an image transfer system where medical image data is transferred between a terminal and an image server on a DICOM standard communication system, a relay server is provided between a terminal and an archiver or a data base. When a request for transfer of medical image data is input into the terminal and sent to the relay server, the relay server sends a request for transfer of the medical image data to the archiver as requested from the terminal. The archiver transfers the desired medical image data to the relay server. The relay server stores the medical image data in a cache and transfers the same to the terminal. Thus the terminal can display the medical image data on a CRT or the like.

  • Publication number: 20020169814
Abstract: A calculation speed of division carried out in a computer is increased. Partitioning means partitions a dividend y that is a 32-bit digital datum at every 8 bits from the least significant bit to generate four bit blocks y(1) to y(4). For the respective bit blocks, table reference means finds solutions z(1) to z(4) obtained by dividing, by a divisor x, values expressed by replacing the bits other than the bits in each bit block with 0, while referring to tables (1) to (4) stored in storage means. Addition means adds all the solutions z(1) to z(4) to find the solution z.
