  • Publication number: 20050068576
Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus which can manage both application data and image data in a database, and transmit application data reusable by a computer. In this invention, both application data and image data which is created from the application data and formed from pages are registered in a database in accordance with database registration information. The database registration information and image data are composited to create and print a distribution material. The database registration information is extracted and reproduced from the distribution material in accordance with the contents of a transmission instruction. The database is searched by using the reproduced database registration information, and data is transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20040150855
Abstract: The present invention is related to an image processing apparatus and method for efficiently managing a document. First data created by predetermined application software and second data converted into image data of a predetermined format (ex. PDF format) based on the first data are received. The first and second data are registered in a database in correspondence with a specific index. Then, either the first data or the second data is selected based on an output method designation and received information representing the index, and the selected data in accordance with the output method is output.

  • Publication number: 20010054076
Abstract: A communication apparatus capable of notifying a receiver of a reception mail error or transmission mail error by printing or the like and preventing incorrect data or error notification mail from being transferred or stored without notifying the user of the error, and a control method and storage medium therefor. To accomplish this, when analysis of electronic mail data reveals a MIME analysis error, BASE64 decoding error, TIFF analysis error, or image decoding error, i.e., when data which cannot be handled by the communication apparatus is contained, a global variable FORWARD is set to “1”. Also, when the received electronic mail is an error notification mail, the variable FORWARD is set to “1”. When the variable FORWARD is set to “1”, transfer and BOX storage of the received mail are inhibited, and the mail is printed by a printer section (2).

  • Patent number: 6147943
Abstract: An information recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording data onto and/or reproducing data from a recording medium by irradiating a light beam emitted from a light source onto a desired track of the recording medium through an optical system. The apparatus includes (i) a single processor for executing an input/output control of the data for the apparatus and a servo process of the light beam such that the input/output control of the data and the servo process of the light beam are alternately switched at a predetermined period, and (ii) an actuator for moving the light beam on the basis of the servo process of the processor. The precision of the servo process is changed so that the precision is increased when an amount of an external disturbance is large.

  • Patent number: 6049516
Abstract: An information recording and/or reproducing method and apparatus for effecting recording of data onto and/or reproducing of data from a recording medium by irradiating a desired track on the recording medium with a light beam emitted from a light source through an optical system. In the apparatus, a single processor executes an input/output control of the data for the apparatus and a power control of the light beam by interrupting the input/output control at every predetermined period. The processor inhibits the interrupt power control of the light beam in accordance with a predetermined situation.

  • Patent number: 5905783
Abstract: There is provided a data communication apparatus comprising a reception means for receiving data via a public network, a reception data storage means for storing the data received by the reception means, into a storage medium, a search sheet output means for outputting a search sheet used to search the data stored by the reception data storage means, an input means for inputting the search sheet output by the search sheet output means and an output means for searching and outputting the data which has been stored in the storage medium by said reception data storage means, in response to the input of the search sheet by the input means. Therefore, the data which has been received from a facsimile apparatus or an electronic mail transmission apparatus is subjected to so-called filing, such that the data can be stored for the later search.

  • Patent number: 5878005
Abstract: An information recording/reproducing apparatus for recording information on and/or reproducing information from a recording medium using a head. The apparatus includes a single processor and a memory device. The single processor executes data input/output processing and servo processing of a light beam from the head, while alternately switching at a predetermined period. The servo processing is divided into a plurality of blocks which are cyclically executed in turn for each predetermined period and processing required to be executed in each period is set in each block and processing not required to be executed in each period is set in only a specific block. The memory device stores contents of the processing for the respective blocks.

  • Patent number: 5297119
Abstract: Data input through a key switch is displayed on a liquid crystal display and is stored in an EEPROM. The data stored in the EEPROM is immediately read out to check whether the read data coincide with the input data. If the data stored in the EEPROM and read out therefrom does not coincide with the input data, the input data is stored again. If the input data cannot be stored in the EEPROM after storage operation is performed a predetermined number of times, a CPU determines, on the basis of a signal from a battery voltage detecting circuit, whether a voltage applied from a power supply circuit to the EEPROM exceeds a predetermined voltage. On the basis of this determination result, the CPU causes the liquid crystal display to display a cause for the disabled storage operation with respect to the EEPROM.

  • Patent number: 4984274
Abstract: When a speech sound of at least a predetermined sound pressure is externally input while a time measurement is not being performed, a time measuring circuit starts a time measurement responsive to a signal from a speech detector. When another speech sound of at least a predetermined sound pressure is externally input while a time measurement is being performed by the time measuring circuit, a measurement time measured by the time measuring circuit at this moment is stored in a time information memory. After a predetermined time has elapsed, if a speech recognition circuit recognizes that the externally input speech sound is a "stop" command, the time measurement operation performed by the time measuring circuit is stopped, and the time information stored in the time information memory is read out and displayed as measurement time information on a display unit.
