  • Publication number: 20070055660
Abstract: A system and method for intelligent computer-implemented downloading of up-to-date information at times when access to data connections are available to improve user efficiency. The system assesses data relevance, calculates the amount of time available for data connections, and prioritizes data downloads based on information relevance, file sizes, download times and other parameters to determine what information to download while access to a connection is available so that the information can be used at a later time when access to a connection may not be available.

  • Publication number: 20070021948
Abstract: A method for prescribing a field operation by generating an optimized prescription with a weighted prescription subprocess, executing the field operation prescribed, and then updating the weighted prescription subprocess using a learning subprocess. The weighted prescription subprocess calculates and sums weighted output from two or more site-specific models to generate the optimized prescription. • Publication number: 20060239208
Abstract: A wireless device that desires to be connected to a wireless network broadcasts itself and its capabilities to a network using an information element. The information element is provided with frames, such as management frames, in a channel that is not protected or encrypted. The information element is forwarded to one or more potential registrar devices. One of the registrar devices then provides configuration information to the enrollee, for example as a registrar information element. The configuration information may be passed out of band or in band, and may be passed using cryptography, which may involve public key cryptography, encryption with a PIN, or some other type of secure exchange.

  • Publication number: 20060217993
Abstract: A method and system for managing fleet health of vehicles comprises gathering environmental data for potential mission locations. A data processing system collects vehicle data, including historical use data and maintenance data associated with corresponding vehicular components of vehicles within a fleet. A mission planner establishes a list of candidate missions for the fleet of vehicles. A stress module assigns a stress severity indicator to the established candidate missions based on the environmental data. The mission planner matches vehicles to corresponding missions based on the collected vehicle data and the stress severity indicator such that the matched vehicles are likely to complete the missions with a desired degree of reliability.

  • Publication number: 20060176468
Abstract: An optical range finder for determining the distance comprises a focusing optical member that focuses emitted electromagnetic radiation upon a micro-mirror array. A processor controls the micro-mirror array to direct the focused electromagnetic radiation into a defined radiation pattern consistent with a lower resolution scan over a greater area and a higher resolution scan over a lesser area of interest within the greater area. A transmission optical member focuses the defined radiation pattern toward an object. A reception optical member receives electromagnetic radiation reflected from the object. A detector detects the receipt of the reflected electromagnetic radiation. A timer determines an elapsed time, between transmission of the electromagnetic radiation to the object and receipt of the electromagnetic radiation from the object, to facilitate determination of the distance between the object and the range finder.

  • Publication number: 20060173593
Abstract: A method or system for managing the noise level of a vehicle establishes one or more noise sensitive zones in a work area. A present location is determined for a corresponding vehicle in the work area. A charge level is measured. The charge level pertains charge level of an energy storage device of the vehicle. A mode of operation of the vehicle is selected based on the determined present location of the vehicle, the established noise sensitive zones, and the measured charge level. The mode of operation is selected from a quiet mode and a charging mode, or the equivalent of either.

  • Publication number: 20060091297
Abstract: A method and system for detecting the presence of an object or the distance between the system and an object supports the provision of rapid and reliable obstacle detection. A transmitter emits generally linear beams of electromagnetic radiation with a transmitted radiation pattern within a defined spatial zone. A camera collects an image of the defined spatial zone. A data processor detects a presence of an object in the collected image based on an observed illumination radiation pattern on an object formed by at least one of the generally linear beams. A distance estimator estimates a distance between the object and the optical device based on a change (e.g., an observed shift in one or more positions of generally linear beams) from the transmitted radiation pattern to the observed illumination radiation pattern.

  • Publication number: 20060030990
Abstract: A system and method for estimating agricultural parameters for growing crops is well suited for promoting efficient utilization of agricultural inputs (e.g., water consumption). Sensors collect data via one or more vehicles equipped with location-determining receivers. A transmitter transmits the collected environmental data to a data processing system. The data processing system applies the collected environmental data to an agronomic model for determining an agricultural management parameter. A prescription is made available for application of an agricultural input (e.g., water) to a crop in a particular location consistent with the collected environmental data and the agronomic model.

  • Publication number: 20050197175
Abstract: A method and system for locating harvested material comprises receiving material data including material location data on a material location of harvested material within a work area. Background data is obtained. A location-determining receiver determines a forwarder location of a forwarder. An estimator estimates economic cost factors associated with corresponding candidate paths or segments of candidate paths between the forwarder location and the material location. A selector selects a preferential planned path between the forwarder location and the material location consistent with the material data, background data, and minimization of the economic cost factors.

  • Publication number: 20050091572
Abstract: Cobrowsing web sites by two or more users is disclosed. For a cobrowsing session between a first client of a first user and a second client of a second user, the cobrowsing session is first initiated. The first user browses a web site on the first client. The first client sends to the second client a synchronization message. The synchronization message indicates one or more commands reflecting the browsing performed by the first user. The second client receives the synchronization message, and cobrowses the web site in accordance with the message and its included commands. Cobrowsing continues until the cobrowsing session is terminated. The commands of the synchronization message allow for fine granularity of cobrowsing.
