  • Patent number: 5513278
Abstract: When a handwritten character is inputted with a pen of a pen input device, a handwritten character recognition unit recognizes the character according to coordinate data of the character. Also, a handwritten area judge unit judges the size of the character and a blank area according to a range of preset areas passed though the handwriting. A character font determination unit detects a character font from a plurality of character fonts to correspond to the character size judged by the handwritten area judge unit. The determined character font is outputted to a display device and the like.

  • Patent number: 5502617
Abstract: A thin and small computer system that can be used generally for control equipment or the like, includes a CPU chip, peripheral control chips, and other components mounted in the form of a bare chip, whereby a computer system having a so-called ISA architecture can be incorporated in an IC card-like casing. Computer system components are fixedly attached to a double-sided printed wiring board. One side of the printed wiring board includes the CPU chip, an IO subsystem chip and memories and the other side includes an image control circuit, memories and the peripheral control chips. A 236-pin connector is formed on a long side of this card-type computer, and is connected to a control bus and an IO bus of the card-type computer. The control bus and the IO bus are not located at opposed positions in the connector. A position of separating the buses from each other is off the center of the connector.

Power lines or ground lines are provided at the separating positions in the connector, thus preventing occurrence of unnecessary electromagnetic radiation noise. RAMs are mounted on a sub-PW board, which provides flexibility for the system. A bare chip of an EEPROM is mounted on another printed wiring board, which enables electrical forming to be performed after such mounting.

  • Patent number: 5398202
Abstract: A reprogramming method of a nonvolatile semiconductor memory formed of MOS transistor cells is provided. Data values are written to transistors of one of groups which is obtained by dividing the entire MOS transistors, and one of the transistors whose data values are written is selected. Then, the data value written in the selected transistor is erased. The selection and erasing are repeated until the data values written in the desired transistors are erased. Thus, reprogramming of the memory is finished. Since the threshold voltage of the transistor erased is well controlled, the threshold voltage dispersion after reprogramming can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5166837
Abstract: A regenerating circuit is disclosed for use in a magnetic disc apparatus which uses a recording system to keep line density of each track in the recording media uniformly in each track. A low pass filter having a fixed cutoff frequency is used in combination with a wave equalization circuit in which time delay and gain are selected to provide a response which when combined with the response of the low pass filter results in an appropriate overall response for the zone from which the information to be processed originates.

  • Patent number: 4881509
Abstract: An electronic control device in an internal combustion engine with an EGR apparatus for calculating a predetermined control variable such as a fuel injection time period or an ignition timing, and correcting same to exclude a component stemming from EGR gas in the intake air. The device comprises a first unit for calculating a fundamental value of the fuel injection time period (TP), a second unit for converting the detected intake pressure under the detected atmospheric pressure into a converted intake pressure under the standard atmospheric pressure in response to the detected atmospheric pressure and a third unit for calculating a correcting value (TPE) from data including information regarding the EGR gas under the standard atmospheric pressure and stored as a function of the converted intake pressure (PMT). In this device, the fundamental value can be corrected by subtracting the correcting value from the fundamental value in the case of the fuel injection time period.

  • Patent number: 4737869
Abstract: A magnetic disk comprises a data area and a single index servo sector area embedded in the data area. The servo sector has three or more servo information pattern sections formed side by side in the direction of data tracks in the data area. The servo information pattern sections each have a plurality of servo information bit cells formed in a predetermined pattern in a direction perpendicular to the direction of data tracks. The servo information bit cells are used to produce a position signal for positioning a read/write head. A servo system for positioning the read/write head averages a plurality of position signals obtained from the servo information pattern sections and uses the averaged position signal for positioning the read/write head.
