  • Patent number: 5918495
Abstract: A multistage gear-rolling apparatus of the present invention comprises a roller squeezing apparatus including a roughing roller die and a finishing roller die disposed coaxially and connected in series in an axial direction of said roughing roller die. The roughing roller die is used for carrying out a hot rough-rolling step. The finishing roller die is used for a warm finish-rolling step. Thus, immediately after the hot rough-rolling step, the warm finish-rolling step can be carried out without a reset of workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5824168
Abstract: According to the present invention, in a heating step, an outer circumferential portion of a workpiece having a disk shape is heated to high temperatures. In a hot rough-rolling step, the outer circumferential portion of the heated workpiece is formed by use of a roller die to generate a rolled-gear having teeth. In a warm finish-rolling step, the teeth of the rolled-gear are finish-rolled by use of the finishing roller die. The starting temperature T.sub.1 of the hot rough-rolling step is set in the range of from 850.degree. through 1100.degree. C., the terminating temperature of the hot rough-rolling step T.sub.2 is set in the range of from 500.degree. through 700.degree. C. The starting temperature T.sub.3 of the warm finish-rolling step is set in the range of from 400.degree. through 700.degree. C., and the terminating temperature of the warm finish-rolling step T.sub.4 is set in the range of from 200.degree. through 650.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5711177
Abstract: A method of corrugating a metallic pipe which achieves an increase in the limit of tube expansion ratios. First, a heated part is formed by heating a local part of an outer periphery of a pipe in a circumferential direction by a high frequency coil. Next, the heated part is located within a forming surface of a forming die, and an axial compressive stress is applied to the pipe. Thus, the heated part is expanded while restricted by the forming surface. Therefore, even when the axial length of the heated part is increased, formability is stabilized and the tube expansion ratio can be raised.

  • Patent number: 5615570
Abstract: The present invention can provide a method and an apparatus for bending a pipe whose bending cross section has reduced compressed ratio, reduced reduction ratio of area and reduced reduction in thickness and in which bending can be conducted at the desired curvature. In the present invention, both edges of the pipe bending portion are arrested and grasped, a center of one bending edge is set to be the axis and a revolution axis is amounted on it, a rotation axis is mounted at a center of the other bending edge and gears are installed on the revolution axis and the rotation axis so as to engage each other so that the driving is driven to the gear on the rotation axis. The rotation axis revolves having the radius to be the distance from the rotation axis to the revolution axis and at the same time the rotation axis rotates on its axis having the radius of the gear in response to the revolution angle.

  • Patent number: 5522247
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for manufacturing a corrugated tube, a tube is clamped by a pair of spaced apart chucks. A local portion of the tube is softened. The chucks are moved in the same direction such that the trailing or rearward chuck moves farther than the leading or forward chuck, thereby imparting an axially compressive force on the tube. Accordingly, a bulge is formed at the softened portion of the tube. The heating and compression cycle may be performed several times to obtain a corrugated tube having a plurality of bulges or waves formed therein.

  • Patent number: 5405459
Abstract: A production process for producing a hollow steel tube of a high strength includes the steps of a tube preparation step of producing a seamless steel tube of a heavy thickness containing flaws of less than 0.25 mm in depth in an inner periphery thereof, a tube inner periphery correction step of correcting at least the flaws having a width of 0.001 mm or less so as to have a depth of 0.15 mm or less, and a hardening step of hardening the seamless steel tube across a whole thickness thereof to a hardness of from 450 to 670 in Vickers hardness (Hv). The production process enables not only to produce a hollow steel tube of a high strength at a less production cost but also to adapt it to exhibit such a high torsional fatigue fracture resistance and a high impact strength that it is applicable to axles for large size automobiles producing high outputs.

  • Patent number: 5185217
Abstract: A relatively displacing apparatus including a movable member and a stationary member which has a coating layer disposed adjacent to the movable member, formed by flame spray coating and including at least one selected from the group consisting of hexagonal system boron nitride and ceric oxide. Since the coating layer is easily machined with the movable member, the coating layer comes to have a surface generated by machining with the movable member and the clearance between the movable member and the stationary member is made zero (0) substantially when the movable member and the stationary member displace relatively at a high temperature. Thus, the efficiency of the relatively displacing apparatus has improved. In addition, since the coating layer has a high thermal shock resistance, the durability of the relatively displacing apparatus has improved.

  • Patent number: 4885213
Abstract: A sprayed member which has a ceramic-sprayed layer formed on the surface of a parent material of an aluminum alloy through a sprayed bond layer. A diffusion layer occupies 20 to 50% of the entire interface between the bond layer and the parent material. The interface between the diffusion layer and the parent material and the interface between the bond layer and the parent material are finely roughened to have a height of several microns. The diffusion layer and the fine roughness are formed by preheating the surface of the parent material at a temperature ranging from 260.degree. to 500.degree. C. prior to spraying the parent material with a material for the bond layer so that they can together enhance the adherency between the bond layer and the parent material.
