    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method for generating a visual display of metrics for one or more peripheral devices. The method involves receiving a plurality of data values indicative of a particular metric. The method also involves determining an average value of the plurality of data values and a ratio between the average value and a particular data value. The method further involves generating a bar graph with at least a first bar representative of the average value and a second bar representative of the particular data value. Additionally, the method involves modifying a longer bar of the first bar and the second bar based on a quotient between the average value and the particular data value based on the ratio being greater than or equal to a threshold ratio. The method also involves causing a display device to display the bar graph.

A computing device with device management software can send a discovery message requesting primary identification information to a printing device. The primary identification information can include a model name and a firmware version of the printing device. The computing device can receive the primary identification information from the printing device. The computing device can send a request message for model-dependent information based on the primary identification information to a server device. The computing device can receive a response to the request message from the server device that includes the model-dependent information. The computing device can generate a user interface (UI) display based on the model-dependent information in the response to the request message.

    Abstract: Example systems and methods may relate to controlling a printing device. Specifically, systems may include a processing device and a printing device. The processing device may be configured to determine an image corresponding to a command for performing maintenance on a printing device. Such a command may include a command to restart device, clean memory, or set sleep mode, for example. The processing device may also render the image on a portable medium. The printing device may read the image using a scanner or other reading device. The printing device may then determine that a command corresponds to the image read. The printing device may then execute the command that corresponds to the image read.
