  • Publication number: 20150039603
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for augmenting a social snippet with an augmentation tagline. For example, a search user may submit a search query through a search interface (e.g., “algebra help” search query). An entity associated with the search query may be identified (e.g., a math professor). A set of taglines associated with the entity may be retrieved (e.g., descriptive information about the math professor extracted from social networks, documents, websites, etc.). A social snippet for the entity may be augmented with an augmentation tagline selected from the set of taglines or generated based upon information relating to the entity. The augmented social snippet may be displayed through the search interface, and the augmentation tagline may indicate a relevance of the entity to the search user (e.g., an indication that the math professor teaches algebra at a university attended by the search user).

  • Publication number: 20150024881
Abstract: A projectile such as a paintball including a ball-shaped capsule and a round-shaped disc capable of facilitating accuracy of projectile travel direction is disclosed. The ball-shaped or substantial ball-shaped capsule, in one embodiment, having a head and a tail is able to store and deliver colored markers upon an impact between the projectile and an object. The round-shaped disc is positioned at a place so that allowing a portion of the round-shaped disc to extend above outer surface of the capsule. The disc is able to catch at least airflow when the projectile is launched. The round-shaped disc, in one example, uses the direction of the airflow to facilitate travel direction of the projectile.

  • Patent number: 8839706
Abstract: A projectile launcher includes a receiver and a dual cylindrical-shaped magazine (“DCM”) wherein the receiver contains a propelling mechanism and an ammunition receiving port. The propelling mechanism is used for launching a projectile. The ammunition receiving port, which may be situated at bottom of the receiver, is able to receive projectiles. It should be noted that the projectile launcher can also be a gun or firearm. The DCM includes two canisters and an ammunition supply port which is situated between the two canisters. The DCM carries multiple projectiles in such a way that a first portion of projectiles moves toward the receiver against gravity for supplying projectiles from the ammunition supply port to the ammunition receiving port while a second portion of projectiles move in a direction parallel to the receiver for replenishing projectiles from the second portion of projectiles to the first portion of projectiles.

  • Publication number: 20140279798
Abstract: Architecture that automatically generate concise descriptions of users in social media. The descriptions communicate classification or category of a given social media user in a small amount of viewing space. The description can be based on available metadata (e.g., user profile biography) and/or other information about that person, as may be obtained from the information data sources (e.g., structured knowledge bases) on networks such as the Internet and enterprises, for example. The descriptions can also be query-dependent, by assuming there is some relationship between the social media user and a query, in which case, the descriptions illustrate that relationship.

  • Publication number: 20140280052
Abstract: Architecture that enables access to high quality summaries of trending topics of social media data, and presents to a consumer an aggregated view of the social activity of a unit of information of interest across different networks (and then defined by increments of time, if desired). The social network data is mined to extract associated attributes as well as popular hashtags, links, etc. This provides a consumer with a single interface for all relevant social activity associated with a user query and enable the capability to browse through the unit(s) of information via the interface. The user can also follow (track) the unit(s) of information of interest as well as receive personalized notifications (e.g., emails) thereby keeping the consumer current with trends on a time basis (e.g., daily, weekly, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20140280017
Abstract: Architecture that enables extraction of pieces of content from the Internet, social networks, in particular, and/or of a user's immediate circle of friends and family, where the content relates to trending topics of those networks as relevant to a search query. The content effectively summarizes a trending topic (e.g., of a single social network or across multiple social networks). The summary can be characterized by different content types, such as images only, text only, and so on. The extracted content can then be presented in a number of different ways such as in a display that visually rotates through the different types of content, such as trending images, summarizing updates, and trending webpages, for example. Another technique for presentation of the extracted social content can be as user-selectable “hotspots” on a page or desktop, and which can display the trending topic summaries.

  • Publication number: 20140237876
Abstract: A double-magazine (“Dmag”) able to house projectile ammunition for a projectile launcher having a first ammunition channel, a second ammunition channel, and a flexible projectile control bar (“FPCB”) is disclosed. In one embodiment, the first ammunition channel contains a first set or column of projectiles and the second ammunition channel which is situated in parallel to the first ammunition channel is configured to house a second set of projectiles. Dmag also includes a follower with a follower lock capable of moving along the first ammunition channel. The follower is configured to push the first set of projectiles toward a first ammunition supply port of the first ammunition channel. The FPCB has a first flexible flap which keeps the first set of projectiles from reaching the loading port of the launcher until the follower lock is released.

  • Publication number: 20140156624
Abstract: A search engine configured to process social communications such that the social communications can be searched according to a specific time period is presented. The search engine (or related process) accesses a store or feed of social communications and segments the social communications according to time periods. The segments are processed such that a representative set of social communications related to topics of the time period are determined. The representative set of social communications is stored in a content store such that the search engine can retrieve them in response to a search query regarding social communications relating to a topic/time period.

  • Publication number: 20140101145
Abstract: Architecture that augments a search result entry caption with keywords related to topics currently being shared and discussed in other social network information sources. This can provide a much better idea of the content of the website or webpage. The architecture obtains a link from updates of social topics of social network information sources (e.g., social networks for people places professionals, etc.), extracts title content of a document title associated with the link, compares the title content to document text for similarity to create non-duplicative content, creates keywords related to popular social topics from the non-duplicative content, and then augments a search result entry of a search result page with the keywords of the popular social topics.
