  • Publication number: 20090132326
Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to an architecture that can utilize special metadata to facilitate an improved advertising model in connection with media content delivery. The architecture can monitor a media player device and can launch a metadata interface on the media player device upon detection that a pause feature has been activated. Accordingly, while the media player device is paused (and therefore not presenting the media in a normal fashion), a user can interact with the metadata interface. The metadata interface can provide, e.g., advertisements or additional information related to elements or objects that exist in the media. In addition, the metadata interface can launch suitable applications in accordance with the special metadata. Additionally, the architecture can embed metadata in the media, which can be done in accordance with an advertiser bidding model.

  • Publication number: 20090130793
Abstract: A method of fabricating a photo diode includes sequentially forming a buried layer of a first conductivity type, a first epitaxial layer of the first conductivity type, and a second epitaxial layer of a second conductivity type on a semiconductor substrate; forming a doped oxide film, including impurities of the second conductivity type, on the second epitaxial layer; forming a silicon nitride film on the oxide film; and patterning the oxide film and the silicon nitride film to sequentially form an oxide film pattern of the second conductivity type and a silicon nitride film pattern, respectively. The second conductivity type impurities are diffused from the oxide film pattern into the second epitaxial layer using a heat diffusion process to form a doped shallow junction layer of the second conductivity type, which converts the oxide film pattern into a non-conductive oxide film pattern.

  • Publication number: 20090128565
Abstract: Indicators operable to preview or show the position and relative zoom level of a field of view within a virtual space. Virtual space exploration tools typically make use of a field of view for limiting a user's view of the virtual space and zooming in on a portion of the virtual space. A spherical indicator is provided to show the current position of the field of view within the virtual space, as well as provide an indication of level of zoom. A local field of view indication is also provided to show the current position of the field of view, as well as provide an indication of level of zoom, with respect to a nearby object within the virtual space. Such indicators may be useful in exploring outer space as well as landscapes and any other spaces.

  • Patent number: 7536480
Abstract: An image passthrough extension structure and method facilitating the transfer of compressed data image files from a software application to a device via the computer system operating system. The application determines whether the device is capable of decoding the specific compressed data file by polling the device driver. If the driver returns a “no support” message, the application processes the compressed data file in a conventional manner. If the driver returns a “support” message, the application transfers the compressed data file, along with the additional processing information, to the device driver utilizing the conventional file transfer operating system data structures modified to incorporate the compressed data file passthrough function.

  • Patent number: 7536043
Abstract: Flow is represented by a synthesized or artificial pattern. Motion is visualized by apparent displacement of pixels from one frame to the next. An artificial pattern is introduced in order to present the flow. A changing parameter, such as velocity, is viewed as a function of multiple images or over time. The rate of change of the parameter is proportional to the perceived or actual motion. Humans perceive flow as a live stream, such as tap water pouring from a faucet or a stream in a creek. Flow associated with medical imaging is presented in a similar way, such that a pattern or other flow information persists over multiple images. The flow is synthesized by generating patterns and moving the generated patterns in the field of view. The direction and rate of motion of the pattern are a function of the direction and rate of the flow.

  • Patent number: 7536410
Abstract: A system and method of automatically dynamically scrolling content in a dimension to enhance user navigation and display of a relevant node is disclosed. In one example, when a user scrolls vertically to a node in a folder tree control where the node/folder name is not visible, the folder tree view may be automatically dynamically scrolled horizontally such that the full name of the folder is viewable. The automatic dynamic scrolling alleviates the effort and stress related to requiring a user to manually scroll a view in two dimensions in a tree control.
