  • Patent number: 7277978
Abstract: A memory device driver is described that can support multiple differing memory devices, in particular, differing Flash memory devices, by being internally re-configurable to match the driving and management requirements of the particular memory device. This allows for a limited number of operating system versions to be produced and maintained for a given system by the manufacturer, reducing the possibility of misconfiguration of the system/device by the inadvertent updating or programming of the wrong operating system version by an end user or service personnel. The resulting driver routine and/or operating system is also typically smaller than operating systems/drivers that compile in or load multiple separate drivers into themselves. In one embodiment of the present invention, the software driver is automatically configures itself by querying the memory device for a device ID and/or manufacturer code or by detecting a specific characteristic of the memory device being driven.

  • Patent number: 7276981
Abstract: A three dimensional (3D) microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC) multi-push voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and methods of making the same is provided. The 3D MMIC multi-push oscillator includes a plurality of matching frequency oscillators coupled to a phasing ring in substantially equidistantly spaced apart locations. A combined VCO output signal is provided at a central output connection point of the phasing ring. The central output connection point resides on a first plane. An output conductor transition has a first end coupled to the central output connection point and a second end provided as an output to the quad-push VCO. The output conductor transition extends transverse to the first plane and terminates at a second plane separated from the first plane. • Patent number: 7275975
Abstract: A toy vehicle that measures and displays performance characteristics is presented. The toy vehicle may be configured to measure performance of the toy, such as speed or acceleration, and display a value for the performance characteristic. A display for showing the performance values may be mounted on the body of the toy vehicle. Movement of the toy vehicle may be measured using an accelerometer. The toy vehicle may determine the number of wheel rotations in a set period of time using a rotary encoder. The value of the performance characteristic may be output to a microprocessor onboard the toy vehicle. The microprocessor may use the value in calculations and the result of the calculations, such as a scaled speed value, may be shown on the display screen.

  • Publication number: 20070225965
Abstract: Text strings from computer-based applications are converted from multiple external formats into an internal format. The text strings are stored in a terminology database. Translations for the test strings are also stored in the terminology database and associated with the corresponding text strings. In one aspect, text strings are converted into a export format for translation into one or more target languages. The translations are converted into the appropriate external formats and output to the applications that supplied the text strings. In another aspect, the terminology database is queried for an appropriate translation for each newly converted text string. In still another aspect, metadata for the text strings is created and associated with the text strings in the terminology database, and used as query criteria to determine the appropriate translation. The metadata may be exported in conjunction with the text strings.

The intelligent keyboard includes a microprocessor module, a physical condition detector, a physical condition adjustor, an analog-to-digital converter (AD converter), a memory, and an operation input unit. The physical condition detector samples physical signals of environment condition in the intelligent keyboard. The AD converter converts the physical signals into digitalized environment values. The memory stores reference physical values representing modest ranges of the environment condition. The physical condition adjustor adjusts the environment condition. The microprocessor module comprises an environment controller for processing the environment values inputted from the AD converter and outputting controller commands to control operation of the physical condition adjustor.

  • Publication number: 20070226332
Abstract: A scheduler selects an I/O from a session of a pool and updates token buckets associated with resource limits and reserves for the session and the pool and statistics used in determining fair sharing. To select an I/O, the scheduler identifies sessions with a non-empty queue, identifies head I/Os in the queues, computes for the head I/O a deadline using session and pool reserve buckets and a release time using session and pool limit buckets, and selects a head I/O with an earliest deadline that is past the release time. If the deadline of the selected candidate head I/O is in the past, the scheduler transfers the selected head I/O to the tail of the storage device queue. Otherwise, the scheduler selects the pool with the least amount of I/O traffic according to a session fair share estimator.

  • Publication number: 20070224932
Abstract: A wireless transceiver system, for compensating a transport loss, includes an antenna (300), a transceiver (100), a tower mounted amplifier (TMA) (200), and a transport loss detector (400). The transceiver transmits a first signal at a transmit power. The first signal is changed into a second signal after the cable attenuation from the transceiver. The TMA, connected to the transceiver via a cable, receives the second signal and amplifies the second signal. The transport loss detector, connected between the TMA and the transceiver, detects a transmission state of the transceiver, and calculates a transport loss between the transceiver and the TMA. The TMA transmits signals to the antenna or receives signals from the antenna according to the detected result of the transport loss detector, and compensates the transport loss according to the calculated result of the transport loss detector.

  • Publication number: 20070221611
Abstract: A process for fabricating fine features such as small gate electrodes on a transistor. The process involves the jet-printing of a mask and the plating of a metal to fabricate sub-pixel and standard pixel size features in one layer. Printing creates a small sub-pixel size gap mask for plating a fine feature. A second printed mask may be used to protect the newly formed gate and etch standard pixel size lines connecting the small gates.

  • Publication number: 20070221610
Abstract: A method to pattern films into dimensions smaller than the printed pixel mask size. A printed mask is deposited on a thin film on a substrate. The second mask layer is selectively deposited onto the film, but not to the printed mask. A third mask is then printed onto the substrate to pattern a portion of the second mask. Certain solvents are then used to remove the printed mask but not the mask layer on the thin film. The mask layer is then used to form a pattern on the thin film in combination with etching. The features formed in the thin film are smaller than the smallest dimension of the printed mask. The coated mask layer can be a self-assembled mono-layer or other material that selectively binds to the thin film.
