    Abstract: A cellular communications network may be configured to leverage a millimeter wave (mmW) mesh network. Base stations may be configured to operate as mmW base stations (tnBs). Such base stations may be configured to participate in the mmW mesh network and to access the cellular communications network (e.g., via cellular access links). A network device of the cellular communications network (e.g., an eNB) may operate as a control entity with respect to one or more niBs. Such a network device may govern mesh backhaul routing with respect to the cellular communications network and the mmW mesh network. Such a network device may configure the mmW mesh network, for example by performing a process to join a new mB to the mmW mesh network. A WTRU may send and receive control information via a cellular access fink and may send and receive data via the mmW mesh network.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for millimeter wave (mmW) beam acquisition are disclosed. An apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit millimeter wave (mmW) WTRU (mmW WTRU) information over a cellular system to a base station a receiver and a processor. The receiver receives a list of candidate mmW base stations (mB) including mmW acquisition start timing information from the base station, and the processor calculates correlation values around the received mmW acquisition start timing information for the mBs in the list.

    Abstract: Techniques for inter-cell interference cancellation are disclosed. At each transmitter, the data (message) may split into two or more layers, (e.g., common and private parts), and may be encoded in different rates, allocated with different powers, possibly beamformed using different precoders, and transmitted through the same physical channels. The common part is to be decoded at both the intended and unintended users, while the private part is to be decoded at the intended user.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for minimizing inter-cell interference at multiple wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) using a shared node (SN). Each WTRU may be configured to receive a desired signal transmitted by a base station in a cell combined with interfering signals transmitted by other base stations in other cells in a first transmission time interval (TTI), and a precoded signal transmitted by the SN in a second TTI. The WTRUs may buffer the desired and interfering mixed signals received in the first TTI, and then combine the buffered signals with the precoded signal received in the second TTI to minimize the interfering signal's power and maximize the desired signal's power at each WTRU so that the desired signal may be decoded with higher probability. The SN may generate the precoded signal based on codewords or codeword components transmitted by the base stations in the same resource blocks.
